Hey Mike, do you have any before and after pics of your siped tires? or just some after will work too. How do you think it affects tread life and what did it cost to get them siped?

I've debated doing it, since it is supposed to help on slick rock crawling as well. It just looks a bit harsh on the tread life from the videos I watched though...

Siping was cheap, $10/tire + tax. Call it $45.

I do not have pics and would be pointless anyway as you have to look really, really, really close to be able to see the cuts.

There are arguements that can be made either way regarding tread life. Those that say never sipe also say that siping can cause chunking where the cut edges can break away. On the other hand, I have read that the big tread blocks that MTs have tendency to build heat which shortens their life. I have read that one of the benefits of siping is better heat dissipation. Obviously, heat dissipation is not the main issue in winter driving but it is a factor other times during the year.

My own personal experience with siping is mixed. It is a trade off (like most things in life) between better traction and potential for chunking. My first set of KM1s did start to chunk a bit as they wore down. They did have a lot of trail miles tho. Changed them out at 40K. My 2nd set of KM1s never chunked out where they were siped. However, at Moab last year that set got really torn up. It was the outer blocks that chunked tho and there was no siping on them. In a couple of spots the whole block was broken off. I only got 35K out of that set.

BTW, siping should only be applied to the two center rows of tread blocks, never to the outer blocks.

Get the 6 injector kit. Better control and delivery and recommended for your truck.

Alright. I may go do it then if I can find a place, I think. Thanks info the info.

Also, in the parking lot when I got off work was a big snow pile:D I got my front tires up on top of it pretty easily but it was too dark for my phone to get a pic...:frusty: it was stood up so high my rear bumper was pretty close to touching the ground and the bottom of my drivers door was almost eye level! was pretty hard to get in and out of. Haha. I tried to repostion for some droop and flex but just sunk into and spun my tires so I gave up. Haha.

    No. But I'll explain now.

The 7th injector kits works well. It's just an injector that is totally independent from the fuel system. The control box monitors a/f ratios and boost levels and puts more fuel in through that to make up the difference. This puts the fuel into the air before the supercharger. This can help the supercharger so,e times but because it's fuel most likely not that much.

The 6 kit comes with 6 new bigger injectors. This gives each piston individually gets more fuel at the amount it needs. More control and beneficial. Plus on top of that you can then add a water/methanol kit to plumb into your truck with it. This works just like the 7th injector(actually the 7th injector kit copies this) but you get the intake tube tapped about 4-6" pre TB. it then only injects when there is boost(more common on turbos buts works great with sc). It's usually a 50/50 mix of water and methanol. The methanol brings 91 octane gas to about 105 and adds cooling to the motor or the sc very important since TRD chargers are super heat soaked. The water also provides cool and keeps the possibility of detonation down. This generally allows you to boost even more so you could run the 2.1 wheel with no problem.

Either way I'd still go for the 6. Better tuning and fuel delivery. The 7th will still work fine but I'd personally want the 6 kit and then water and meth injection.

Also if you have EGR. You have to run the 6 injector kit as the 7th uses the EGR port for injector.

Also..that guy lowered his price to 1400 with the 7th..it's a 1st gen charger..but still..
