Actually I ordered the truck in just for me. MSRP was 35,795. Waited three weeks for it. I took advantage of my sisters employment at Toyota. I also added on the graduate rebate. Finally I got them to honor their online Tacoma rebate mistake on their website for 1500 cash back or 0 % financing. I chose the 1500 as my sisters ergonomic engineering plan gave me automatic 2.35 regardless of my credit. I'll post up my contract and online mistake so others can see if their local dealer made the same mistake.

Nice work. I was wondering how some folks were getting $3k below invoice. Congrats on the truck...hopefully I'll join you all soon.

Yeah, I'd be curious to see the contract on that. $8k off MSRP for an ordered truck sounds impossible for a dealer to do without taking a huge loss. Something tells me trade equity had something to do with this, meaning the truck didn't actually sell for $27.6k.

Do explain. What would trade equity have to do with it? I'll post my paperwork when I get off work.

Trades complicate things. Dealers can use equity in the trade to make profit and then remove that profit from the selling price, making the TRUE selling price higher than the one you think you got.

Invoice on $35,700 MSRP would be roughly $32,800 (could find out more but don't know your exact options). Take away $2,500 for your rebates (which I can't find the $1,500 rebate on any website but OK) and you're left with $30,300. If you bought for $27,600 this means your sister's employment got you a discount to about $2,700 BELOW invoice from the dealer. Not sure if she works at Toyota corporate but a dealer employee deal would probably not do that. Most I've heard about do just below invoice by a hundred or two.

Maybe they gave you $20k for the trade and cut you a check for $17k and put $3k into the truck's profit. Maybe they cut you a check for $20k for your trade, but it turns out the trade was really worth $24k and they pocketed that and 'sold' you the truck for cheap. This means you got the money from your previous purchase, having paid $23k for a vehicle worth something like $4k more, or you got lucky. Either way, it's got nothing to do with price paid for a 2013.

But who knows, maybe your sister's employment deal is really that good, I was just curious. Every time I see someone post an outrageous 'deal' it turns out they had a trade-in that fudges the numbers. So if she has some deal that gives that much money off invoice, good for you, that's nice...wish I had someone I know working at Toyota!

Sorry for all the updates... but got the dealership at $29K OTD for the truck above. I told him $28.5K and it's a deal... he said he can't do it :(

Fair enough. I'll post everything after work. Hopefully that will curb the slight attitude in your post. Sometimes shit works out. In this case it did. I'm more than happy to post all pics of my deal, rebates, and the website of the dealer(which has been removed since I bought mine because it was a mistake, but I took pictures so I had proof for the dealer). I'll use the money i saves to buy you a beer!

I would take that. My 2013 DCSB V6 Sport without the tow package was 29K out the door.

Hey dude sorry, I didn't mean to convey attitude, I just wanted to know the details of how it works out because car purchases are complicated transactions when trades and rebates come into play.

If the dealer really made a $1,500 mistake and ate the loss that's pretty good.

And if your sister's employment offers $2,700 below invoice on that truck as a sales price then seriously, I'm highly jelly...that's a hell of a perk. I usually see a bit above invoice when it's a benefit for working at a dealer, and I've read about $1k below when you work for Toyota corporate.

I just didn't want people to see the number and have higher expectations for their own purchases until they know exactly where it comes from ya know...

I just got my new baby, bank is sending me check tomorrow so I do not have the paperwork today but will have it tomorrow to see the actual selling price. Out the door I paid $30,500 for MGM Double Cab, TRD Sport, Tow and Entune. No carpets mats and no nothing else...

Hi everyone just joined looking to buy my first Tacoma. Looking for a 4DR Pre-Runner V6 and found a 2WD TRD Off-Road with Tow and I am being quoted $25900 in Super White. Was wondering if that is a good price.

Mine is a prerunner and with no trades. I had agreed on a price of $28.7k out the door but found out the truck had 147 miles on it. Personally if I'm buying a new truck... I want less than 50 miles.

    That's a really great price!

I would have took the one with 147 miles and ran off personally!
