Personally, I think the team needs help outside the crease if they plan to make a run. Without a healthy Kesler, they need help.

 

Judging on who they are starting for what opponents they are playing I would fully agree. Who starts their "#2 goalie" against the defending champs?


Again I agree. The 2 games I watched it sure seems like they need some help.




On another note I'm not so sure making Giroux captain of the Flyers was a good move on the coaches part. He has been flat so far. Seems like they may have done it a little to soon and the pressure may be getting to him. I hope I am wrong and he picks up his play, but from what I have seen so far it's doubtful. I would of loved to seen Jagr come back for another season and mentor Giroux for another season. Jagr was very good for the locker room.

 

I think the situation changed when farm team #1 goalie , Eddie Lack went down and now needs surgery and will be out for 6 months

I agree we are in a bit of trouble up front currently without Kesler and Booth , but I think Gillis may want to wait till they are both back in the line up to evalute the situation before he trades Luongo

 

AV will always start the lineup including the goalie he thinks will best give them the chance of winning on any given night outside of pressure to start a " #1 " or " #2 " keeper

He has always said this , it is his stock answer to the question about who will start in net

 

Likely true on Giroux. Not all great players make great captains. Especially not when they are young. Wearing the C is an overrated honour.

It is odd that they wouldn't give their '#1 guy' the nod against LA.

I didn't know that about Lack. That is significant.

Kesler has been through a lot the past two seasons. It will interesting to see if he can get it together in this short season. As for Booth, I am not yet convinced he is so special. Kassian might be the guy the Canucks really need to be a star.

They'll deal him in the summer after the season is over. If you're a team that has two #1 goalies why not ride em both for a 48 game reg season? They need all the help they can get keeping pucks out of the net since Booth and Kesler are out of the lineup to pad the Goals For stats.

As for that crap going on in PHX, why would anyone want to throw money at a team that has a fan base looking like this:

You would trade one because you get an offer that makes your team better. It is highly unlikely either Luongo or Schneider are going to make up for a lack of offense.

Anyone know if Seattle is getting a new arena for the Sonics/Kings? IF so, SEA could be a destination for PHX.

 

The arena deal is done in Seattle, it will be a state of the art 500 mil + NBA/NHL arena. The Sacramento Kings have already been purchased and pending NBA approval will be playing in Seattle next year. Everyone is reporting a unanimous vote to move the team. The shovel will break dirt the second the deal is approved.

What we are hearing out here is that with the NBA deal done Chris Hanson and Steve Ballmer, CEO of MS, have been aggressively pursuing an NHL deal. Which is why suddenly the NHL is talking expansion after talking about retraction for so long. Seattle and Q.C. seem to be leading the charge.

Targeted teams so far seem to be Phoenix and Florida. One more but I can't remember who.

Your totally right. I said from day one of the season they should have traded him for the best return possible before the season. I was told by someone pretty close to the Leafs that people were talking a lot about Bozak+Frattin offered for Luongo, and lots of people were saying Kadri (doubt that though). No way they get that now with the way those kids are playing

No matter the value of Luongo, which is pretty high IMO because he was and always will be an allstar goalie, his value goes down everyday as he gets older. For what? A half year run for the Canucks whos are without key players already? POOR management end of story

 

what? of the goalies that have played more than 2 games this year Luongo has the 2nd highest save% and the 2nd lowest GAA.
