Does this sound doable?

I have 2 PIAA 520 Driving and Fogs arriving shortly. Seeing how I only have 1 blank spot for a switch for the lights and didn't want to do major surgery to add switches, I was hoping to do the following. Let me know if this sounds doable.

My goal:

1. Have the normal stock truck lights come on and off whenever I want
2. Have the PIAA driving and/or fog lights on whenever I want

What I'm looking to do:

1. Wire the stock fog lights into the stock headlights, so that when the headlights are turned on, both headlights and fog lights come on (I always run with both on anyway)
2. Wire the PIAA fog lights into the open switch that will be placed under the climate controls. This will be able to be turned on at any time, regardless of the state of the stock headlights. (still deciding on whether I want them to turn off with the ignition)
3. Wire the PIAA driving lights into the stock fog light switch. This will be able to be turned on at any time, regardless of the state of the stock headlights. (still deciding on whether I want them to turn off with the ignition).

It probably is doable, I just wanted to run it by the experts here before I get started. Let me know if there are any hazards I should look out for.

 

Isn't the point of fog lights (when used in fog) to be minimal low mount lighting. You would loose that functionality in your proposed setup.

 

Do some research about your states laws about lighting.

Depending on your state laws on lighting & vehicle inspections (if you have any) - might change the way you wire everything up.

In PA - driving lights can only be legally lit with the high beams. Fog lights can only be legally lit with the low beams. My fogs are wired illegally - however - for my yearly state inspections, I have to remove power from the fog lights (pull fuse) in order to pass inspection.

 

That is the reasoning in #2 that I can have all lights off except the PIAA fogs.

Looking to have:

1. All lights off
2. Only parking lights on
3. Only stock fogs and driving lights on
4. Only PIAA driving lights on
5. Only PIAA fogs on
6. Any combination of the above, whether PIAA fogs and parking lights on, or stock lights and PIAA driving lights on, etc.

 

was wondering if you could do that --> 510's to factory fog wiring
