A bumper will definitely help with animal strikes. Particularly an ARB. Those bumpers are designed more for animal strikes than they are for rockcrawling. Those aussies are more worried about tagging a kangaroo out in the sticks at 50mph than they are hitting them on the rocks.

I nailed a deer in my '93 PU that had a TJM plate bumper. No dents and just a bunch of hair on spring hangers etc. I hit it at 70mph and pulled over immediately and the deer was dragged under the truck to the shoulder where I stopped. For me it was fortunate that the truck was as tall as it was because the deer went underneath instead of over the hood and into the windshield. That would be my bigger worry with M3Bassman's truck and hitting an animal is having it come over the hood. But a bumper will definitely offer protection.

Honestly. If a bear came at you in a tent. You would not have enough time to shoot it. You would just be dead haha Guns are the worst defense against bears.

 

Well if you are like Lisa and just have a camera, might as well snap off some cool pics so at least some good comes out of a bear eating you

I am pretty sure that even if I dont kill him he will be very, very pissed off at what just happened on and around his face haha! Bullets, lots and lots of big bullets. Right in his dome piece

And the right size gun and a good placed shot make a gun a great defense, but yeah if he made it that far while you are sleeping fat chance someone like me would realize what was going on in time to grab my gun and shoot him. I sleep like a rock...

Yea I'm sure most would wake up. But just cause a bear is in your camp doesn't give you the right to shoot it. Hence why guns are again a bad defense against bears. You will go to jail unless you can prove you where being out right attacked. Which..is hard..unless your injured..and idk about you I'm not going to let a bear injure me just so I can try and shoot it with my cute pistol that most likely won't kill it out right.

Bear spray, noise, and preparation are the best ways to go.

Guns are pretty useless.
