2012 DCSB prerunner 3" lift

I know, another lift question. The truth of the matter is I just don't understand. I've read a million threads. What I want is a 3" lift with a street only comfy ride. I want to do the Billstein 5100's with aal approach but again just don't understand what I need. Could someone tell me what to get. I've seen plenty of 2012 tacos on here that are lifted but they are 4x4. Does it make a difference? I need all the help I can get. It seems the more research into this I do the more confused I get. Links to what I should get would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm looking to get the best quality for my money, especially since I won't be going off roading. I will be hauling a trailer eventually but nothing crazy.

 

Hmmm, I'd like to hear some answers for this one! I've got a similar interest, not going to do any serious offroading but would like some capability if the need would arise.

 

You will be pushing it at 3 inches without upper control arms. New upper control arms correct caster.. or is it camber?. Anyways get some 5100s, get a 1.5 aal, and for a better ride in the front pick up some eibach coils. Im no expert but i think you get about 2.5 inches of lift with eibach coils set at .85 on the billies in the front. with the AAL that should be about level.

 

Get a progressive aal.......singles tend to make the rear hop around on small bumps.....progressives are smoother from what I have experienced 1st hand.

 

Haven't heard of the progressive Aal before. Is what your talking about?

I had the deaver/toytec and it sucks compared to the icon imho....same 1.5" lift.

 

So that will level out the rear end if I lift the front 3"? And I'm still not totally clear what to get for the front.

Ok here's what you need to do. Go to wheelers offroad website, or toytec, or just search google for it. Get eibach coils, which give you 1.6 inches of lift. Then, you're going to want to get bilstein 5100s, set to ,85 inches. Combined with the coils, this will give you 2,5-3 inches in the front. For the rear, google icon or deaver progressive 1.5 inch AAL for Tacoma. Get those. This will just about level you out. The only other thing that is recommended but not completely necessary is new upper control arms. I suggest light racing upper control arms. You can find them at fat bobs garage for a good price. Yeah that's a good website, you can order just about everything you need from them, although I don't think they sell the eibach coils. Feel free to ask away with any more questions.

Looks like a good setup, lots of guys running it on here. One thing though, with the OME coils, set the bilsteins to 0, they aren't designed to be adjusted to a higher level with that coil. Also look at

Save a few bucks on the UCAs. Hope that link works good lift overall though, be sure to upload some pictures once it's installed!

I already have the wheels picked out. Gonna get some stealth 6 gunmetal. Tires I don't know yet.

I'm posting links for others that have questions and my reference later. From what you said the eibach coils are the better choice. Did I post the right Aal?

 

Eibachs aren't necessarily the better choice, I was just saying with those shocks, you just need to leave them at stock (0) height. tons of guys run full OME setups, but it's just opinion and preference. And as long as you were referring to the one at the bottom, the progressive one, yep that's it.

 

I like the idea of leaving them at stock height.
