Tire size on stock rims?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if a 33" tire w/ decent width would fit on stock rims. I have a 2005 Taco TRD Sport. Is anyone on here running a similar tires size on these rims?

 

They fit... you'll need spacers to clear the UCA's usually though.

EDIT: sorry yes lift is a must.

Heres mine on the stock rims with 285/70/17 KM2's

 

You are going to have MAJOR rubbing issues without a lift or trimming

 

Oh sorry! I meant to tell you guys that I plan on a 3" lift.

Ah gotcha you may still have some issues but not nearly as bad as no lift

Not necessarily. Many members on here are running that exact set up. There is just some custom work you MIGHT have to do to make it work (trimming fenders, take or UCA rub, etc

 

I understand that some trimming may be necessary and thats not that big of a deal.

You said something about spacers... would I still need that in addition to the 3" lift?

 

That I am not sure of. I know some people have had rubbing issues on their suspension components, but it does not seem to be a big issue. Hopefully someone else can hop on here and help you out because that is beyond my knowledge

 

3" lift,285/70/17 Bridgestone Revos on stock Sport rims w/Spidertrax adapters & TC UCA's.

 

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. Im going to wash it and take better pics later. 285/75/16 km2's. Spidertrax wheel spacers. Total Chaos uca's. 3" OME lift. I do have rubbing. I havent checked where yet. Im going to cut tomorrow. The only time it has rubbed so far is going in a dip and turned. Other than that no rubbing at all.

 

Zarlyl, make sure when you do, go with the spidertraxx spacers, the tire shop tried putting some random ones on mine with the wheels and I had the worst steering wheel shake ever because of the 'hub-centric' balance. Either way I went to aftermarket wheels 2 days later.
If you go with my tires, you'll need to take most of the black inner plastic fender out on the front. Be aware you will still occasionally rub the cab mounts, but to fix that is a considerable amount of labor.

I just learned recently that they have a cab mount chop mod. But I wouldnt do that unless you are really into offroading.

Revtek 3" suspension lift
Spidertraxx spacers
32 x 10.5 tires

Anything to add?

 

Bigger, better front brakes, and more horsepower. Gotta have the whoa with all that rubber and extra HP.

 

One thing to not forget, while its not necessary, your truck will not drive and 'feel' the same once lifted. You're going to get that 'floating' feeling in the steering wheel. It takes a few days to get used to, but to ultimately fix the caster so that it drives the same you should buy the Total Chaos UCA's. They're not cheap, and thats the only reason I haven't bought them.

 

Well I owned a 96 taco that was lifted 6" so i was used to the floating feeling... are the total chaos UCAs to correct the "feel" only? or do i need them for performance reasons?
