Advertisers seek to broadcast their products in order for these fans to purchase. What exactly are they advertising?

Ultimately, it is the beer commercials that are most popular, spanning across 20 arenas in the United States. How do these beer commercials and branding influence young children or teens who are watching the shows? Are there anyway fans could influence the NHL in removing overt advertising, such as on the boards or above the ice? Will the NHL follow the trend of European hockey teams and start selling advertising space on NHL jerseys? Or, even, what would it look like if the NHL had no ads on the boards whatsoever? These are only a few questions that I believe need to be addressed when talking about advertising and the NHL.
