    Long story short I was able to get a new HU and some speakers through point based incentive from my job. I am pretty stoked! This is what I got:

    * Pioneer AVH-X4500BT:
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X4500BT/Pioneer-AVH-X4500BT.html?tp=20217

    * Pioneer TS-A1605C Component speakers: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA...? showAll=N&search=pioneer_ts-a1605c&skipvs=T#

    * Pioneer TS-A1685R coax speakers:
    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSA...search=pioneer_ts-A1685R&skipvs=T#details-tab

    I have ordered a Scosche dash kit, parking brake by-pass, fat mat for the doors, speaker ring adapters for front and rear 6.5's ,tweeter adapters, and the CD-IU201S cable for iphone/touch/apps.

    My plan was to run the HU & coax speakers in the front until I can afford a 5 way amp and sub/box. Then move the coax to the rear and put the component speakers up front. Mainly just looking for cleaner/better sound. Not looking for a massive power/bass shaking system. Not sure how far out an amp would be but I still have some points and was looking at getting a Pioneer TS-SW251 10" shallow mount sub and building a box like the ********* one. Here is the sub: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Subwoofers/Shallow+Mount/TS-SW251

    Question though: Would the HU have enough power to let me run the componet mids and tweets without an amp...just running the speaker power to the crossover? Sticking the crossover in the door panel? Or would they sound terrible because of being under powered?! So... should I just wait until I get the amp/sub/box or run the componet speakers and coax now?!

    Thanks in advance for any input/advice!:cheers:

    Personally I would run the front and rear speakers off of the HU power until your ready to upgrade to an amp/subs. Install the speakers once and be done with it. I think you'll be surprised as to how well the HU handles it. Not huge pounding sound, but still reasonable.

    That's exactly what I'm doing with my Rosen.

    It'll drive the Polks to levels that'll leave my ears ringing... don't need more.

    ^ I agree, put them in one time. Head unit should be able to push it. I put my stuff in stages. That way I did as well as i could w/o rushing.While I had the door panels off I dynamatted and built baffles out of 3/4" MDF for my 6.5 polks. I also made costum aluminum tweeter brackets. Once I took the drivers door apart, made my baffles, then did two doors a night. I got the pioneer 4400 for christmas, installed that, then came back the next weekend and put my steering wheel interface in. I also have 3 young kids so I could only get an hour or 2 at a time to do the install. I have a 5 channel amp($207 Amazon, alpine v60) i went ahead and installed and ran new wires to the speakers from the amp in the back. installed the sub about 6 weeks later after i researched and found one for a good price and built a box(kicker comp 10").just built a box for 2-8's and it pounds. If you need a box , let me know I could probably make one and ship it to you or sell you the one with the 10' kicker for a good price. Good luck

    Thanks! This is exactly the road that I am going down and happy to hear that it worked out for someone else. Wired up the harness last night and will start the install tomorrow. I would be interested in seeing the box you built for the 10" but I am sure that shipping would probably kill any deal. Thinking that building a box should be a good project and I can custom fit it with a panel for the amp.

    Did you find any issues with the way it opens for the DVD slot? Crutchfield is adamant this doesn't fit du to it sliding down but you have first hand experience. Lol.

    Thank you. Crutchfield should probably do some more r&d on their quotes as they are driving people away. If I didn't stumble across this thread, I was forced to think it wouldn't fit.
