So it seems like from all the searches that I've done, the best bet is a suspension lift. Now I know if I put the effort and time into it, I could find my answer but since there are so many of us that spend so much time on here answering threads and looking at new ways to blow our paychecks, it seems like it's not a big deal if I open a new thread for my specific inquiries.
I have a 2005 4x4 and am curious what you guys think would be the best bet for a suspension lift for me.
About my truck: It is a daily driver. I am not trying to make it a regular off roader. It needs to be functional for both daily driving and some weekend warrior stuff. Money is, as I'm sure it is for all of us, a concern. I'm only looking for a 3" to fit some 31's MAYBE some 33's.
All the research I've done has brought up a bunch of acronyms that I don't know. If you guys could break it down Barney style for me I would be much obliged.
I think that's everything, please have patience with me this is only my second post. Thanks for you help in advance.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
Welcome to TW man. Yeah considering your needs I would suggest a full Old Man Emu (OME) lift kit, with Dakars rear leaf springs. For the front, I would go with 885 coils and Nitrocharger shocks. Get the trim packer to level out the front, then make sure if you do get the rear dakar leaf pack to get some steel brake lines. Thats MY opinion man

Edit: Here is a link to the kit, You still have to add in shipping charges to your area and here is the brake down,(without shipping) and without steel brake lines

Front coil options: Med 885 coils
Top plate spacers: Add top plate spacers (+ $59.00)
Rear Options: Complete rear OME CS047R springs with U bolts (+ $469.00)
    Front Diff drop kit: 4X4
Add Rear shock stone guards (Pair): Yes (+ $26.00)
NEW! Assemble front shocks/coils with new bushings: Yes (+ $100.00) 1 Product
    $1 388.99
    1 x
    $1 388.99

Hey man thanks for the info! The link you provided took me to what I believe to be your shopping cart...which you must have already paid for so it showed me, your empty shopping cart. Try again for me mate?

This is what I've found so far. Is this up to par? Again I'm very new to tacomas. I used to have an 89 Wrangler Sahara with a 3" body and a 4" suspension. So I'm some what aware of lifts and their usages, but you guys take Tocomas to a whole new level. Please advise!!!

that kit includes blocks, which arent necessarily a 'bad' thing, alot of people would vote for AAL over blocks however
