    I have 4x4 with stock tires, so I figure I should be OK, right?

    you'll be cool. stock tires tend to do better in the sand, air them down you get a nice footprint, and they dont dig.

    Still on the fence. Figure if I go down to SD, its about 2 1/2 hours drive there, drive around for a few hours and then drive 2 1/2 home. Might be more fun to just drive up on Friday, veg out, throw back a few coolies, then drive back on Saturday.
