Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...

thats right....a man could never love another man or a woman could never love another woman as DEEPLY as the people that have been married 5 times, or the people that get hitched for "winning" a reality show. sanctity of marriage has been blown for years. so i guess ur now saying that you are better than every gay person in the world and they could never show the level of love or commitment that you do...what a crock

and yes i "sin", but i'm also not being looked upon by millions as a leader or their moral compass either

I got no problem with it. Love and be with whatever gender you choose. I am a man and I dig women, more specifically, my wife, but that's just me.

Oh, but according to the "gay community", voters are stupid and don't understand the issue. I say, suck it up then and be a "man". heh heh heh

Gays don't want equal rights, they want you to think they are in fact equal in every way.

heh heh heh....we don't go to church because we're perfect, we go because we aren't. Your pre-marital sex comment uses an individuals hypocrisy and sin to attack the entire faith. That's simple, but it's wrong. Most atheists and agnostics attack religion to justify their own sins and unwillingness to acknowledge them - it's the easy road. In fact, my religion teaches me that I will be hated and vilified for my beliefs but a great many in society. It doesn't tell me to hate them, or feel sorry for them, but it does ask that I stay the course and not compromise my beliefs.

It gives you enjoyment to blaspheme another's faith? I don't understand that. Don't get me wrong, I would never cut anyone's head off over it!! Nevertheless, it is disrespectful. But I still luv ya man!

Here's a question for ya. What drove you to believe so strongly in your religion? Was there turning point in your life, was it formed over many years, and was there some event or evidence that cemented your belief structure?

Of most interest to me, if you found the same or more evidence that another religion was more correct than the one you're currently following, would you change religions? What would it take to change your beliefs, or is that an impossibility?

As for blasphemy, I don't think this qualifies as it's really just visual representation of a conversation that could have very well taken place.

For the record, yes I do simply because people take themselves way too seriously.

Note that I'm not trying to legislate my beliefs or criticisms. ;)

marriage is not a term used ONLY by christianity.

other religions, cultures...etc. have their versions of marriage and call it that. and many of these versions differ with each other.

you cannot forbid others from using the term marriage because their version of it does not coincide with the christian version of it.

who knows if christianity is even the right religion? is one religion right or more right than another? like if one kid was part of religion x and followed it devoutly because their parents raised them that way, and another was religion y (which contradicts religion x) and followed it devoutly because their parents raised them that way... and they both die... who goes to heaven? both thought they were following gods will. both were leading their lives the way they believed god wanted them to.

how can you take away something from one group of people based on something you believe may have happened a long time ago.

religion is fine if thats what you believe in but you can shove it up your ass when you start using it to infringe on the rights of others that don't share your beliefs. because in the end religion is just an opinion/interpretation of how things happened a long time ago and there are a lot of them out there.

Hey MJP2, yeah I'm calling you out because after reading this entire thread, it seems that it's now getting out of hand. Bad rep me, call me names, talk about me behind my back, I really don't care. BELIEVE ME when I tell you that my "real life reputation" means more to me than any little green square or red square ever could! It seems this started off as a simple question of our opinion on whether or not same sex marriage should be allowed or not. As usual it's degenerated into christian bashing and defaming the Man that died for me. I don't hate you, I'm called to love you because you were created in the same image that I was. I understand how we as christians have lost respectability, for far too long we have said one thing and done another.......what you say you believe as a christian don't mean a thing if you don't live it out. But when I see pictures like the ones you posted, it honestly makes me sad to see it come to this. I believe with all my heart that the same man in those pictures went through hell and was made fun of and tortured and put to death simply because he loved you and me. Call me what you will, but I do believe he has seen and put up with much more than simple pictures....I just can't seem to get past the anger that I feel when I see them. I don't understand how you can justify this in your own mind?! If nothing matters anymore and there is no right and wrong and nothing is off limits, then maybe my wait to be taken away from here is almost over. I'm not trying to push my beliefs on you, that's what great about what I believe, you get to choose.... FREE WILL! I can have my opinions and this country may not go the way I would hope but thank God I can still voice my opinion...at least for a while longer. I would simply ask that you not post those types of pics just out of respect for me and any other fellow christians. I certainly wouldn't intentionally post up something that I KNEW was going to offend you. You can decide to do whatever you want but I would sure appreciate it. Thanks! Chuck S.
