    Hey guys,

So I picked up my truck yesterday and was wondering if ARB has released their bumpers for the 2013 model?

I am getting mixed messages, found a bumper http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=12701 but nothing on the ARB website...

Also will my current stock TRD suspension suffice to have aftermarket bumpers put on or will I need to get a lift/leveling kit before I do so?

Lol Tyler there makes a great bumper, as far as suspension, stock set up won't be able to handle it.

    HEHE...

Technically speaking the Bilstien shocks won't do anything? Figures  ...

So what do I need to do in order to get my truck ready for aftermarket steel plate bumpers (both front and back)?

Tyler, the bumper looks awesome! Are they compliant with airbag deployment?

airbags are inertia driven. Meaning the bumper has nothing to do with it. And you could get OME setup with 885-886 springs and it would be a good setup

I meant are there crumple zone mounts like the ARB bumpers come with?

Also I should probably clarify that I live in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Temperatures range from -40C to +40C (these are maximums for Calgary but the winters are colder and summers are hotter at times in other parts of Canada). The reason I am looking into bumpers is because for some odd reason, drivers tend to forget what driving on ice is like every year. This will prevent any significant damages occurring to the truck while letting me kit it out for expedition use.

Read this, if you want the short story, according to this, the airbags don't go off from crumpling but from deceleration (the inertia part). So according to this you don't have anything to worry about if a car hits you (as far as if your airbags will go off). I cant speak for how Tyler's bumper mounts as I don't have mine yet, but he does make a great product and I'd recommend it.

By taking into account my location and climate, what suspension modification do I need to do to make my '13 tacoma ready for steel plate bumpers?

You said you want an expedition rig correct? This is a good setup and OZ will even agree. Go with Dakars in the rear and 886 coils up front

Then OME , as suggested by Monster Coma would be my vote as well

If there were no budget restrictions (taking into account I am not going to be selling my truck for a long long time) what would you suggest looking at longevity?

Well if budget isnt a concern, you could go mid travel or long travel. Then you are looking at 3-10+ thousand on suspension alone

Oh , IDK , you could go to higher end coilovers like Icon , but that might be overkill for what you are trying to acheive

FWIW , I'm happy with my OME set up

Thank you. So the aforementioned link to Toytek is what I am looking for to pre my truck for plate bumpers?

Yes.. I would suggest adding the Dakars (OME CS047R) in the rear as well

Thanks you guys! I will do a bit more research into expedition vehicles. I am not an off-roader and the only inspiration I have is the Oakley Surf Tacoma. That was one of the reasons I bought this truck...
