New Owner...few questions

Moved from this (99 TJ)...


To This (2001 Double Cab)...



The first thing I plan to do is replace a bunch of the front end...some of the drivers side bumper clips are broken so the headlight/corner light/side of grill are loose.

My original intent was to black it all out (I dont like chrome) via these:

Black Grill:

What I dont know is if this stuff matches or if I will have 28 different shades of black on the front end. If they dont match up, I was thinking about maybe trying the Argent/Gray grill in that grill link and pairing it with the black bumper face.

Any one have thoughts or experience trying to match unpainted black out parts?

Thanks all for the welcomes...been trying to snag one of these double cabs forever. Needed more room than the 2 door jeep.

I like the flat/matte black look, so may go a couple coats with that...but hoped being unpainted it would be less prone to chipping.

I couldnt find many examples of the Argent colored grill on silver, just a couple notes about how it doesnt quite match, but is ok.

I love the satoshi grilles, but I like the allure of a $40 grille too Possibly ordering two and attempting my own cut and mesh

Are people running these on Tacos? I havent seen many examples of such. Not sure I am a huge fan of the LED strip but I like the 2in1 design:

Thanks, hard topic to search for. Looks like most peoples sentiment is similar to mine...probably go with a standard capa cert 2 piece but possibly smoked.

I would of kept the jeep... The 4 liter is a beast. They'll run for ever like a Tacoma and her better get mileage...

 

im pretty sure he had the 2.5 tj which i would die for, im just now changing my plans to get a taco

I wouldn't touch the 4 cylinder jeep with a 10 ft pole. Way under powered. Anything bigger then stock tire and its bogged down. If that was the case I don't blame him for buying a Tacoma. Jeeps were great up until the JK, and that's really just the 6 cylinders.

Even with the camper shell?

The taco upgrade was simply needing a truck bed and 4doors. I would have driven the jeep forever if it had the utility I needed.

Thanks, any good local shops or anything for the Taco world around here? I found Yota Jims but thats about it.
