Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Crazy how many gun advocates have been killed or 'died' lately in freak killings/accidents...

i have a issue with my ar, i decided i would borrow dads BCG from his colt and test it in my upper and make sure nothing was out of wack, well i tried to use a 223 laser pointer as a go gauge and this is what i saw.
so i decided that i would find a fired 223 case and test it and it goes in till about like before and it wont go any further unless you just drop the bolt,(like its a new mag and you slap the side) then it goes in fine and its a little hard on the extract, is this just a tight chamber or what?
    the casing looks like this.

This is a fired case from another gun? That's why we use does when we reload, man - to reduce the dimensions of the brass to fit easily into any chamber for that caliber. It expands when firing. I think you're worried about nothing.

Not to be a jerk, but from the nature of this post I should tell you not to load a live round without a good backstop. ARs have floating firing pins and its a good rule of thumb to not drop a round in the chamber then drop the bolt on it, especially indoors. Let the gun slowly strip a round from be mag if you absolutely have to test with a live round indoors.

So the bolt in your upper has not been shot correct? Is the action very tight. like sliding the bolt back and forth. mine the firing pin cam was alittle bit to big and would bind at the same point and would allow the action to close all the way. also would extract. so take a look at that. i know that if it worked in your dads it should work in yours but ya never know.

Also you should not swap bolts between guns. If you need to use the same carrier that's fine but each gun needs its own bolt.

i'd recommend joining a forum for one of the gun groups in your state, ...or a forum with state-specific topic areas (i.e. ar15.com hometown forums, etc...), ...oftentime folks will post when local shops get stuff like that in... otherwise you have to just keep checking stock for a bunch of websites, and hope to get lucky...

Tough to diagnose the problem over the internet.

If you're worried about the firing pin, remove it.

Also someone asked if that spent casing was from another weapon. That's called "fire forming".
If it came from your Dad's Colt with a 5.56 chamber and now you're jamming it into a .223 chamber, it'll be tight.
