Nope. Found a pristine '07 with 78k on it for 16k. Fixed up with lift, wheels, and tires I'm still gonna be under 19k. 5.7, but is 2x4 trd. I'll deal with it.

Check ebay man. The deals are out there. Got mine for $275 shipped and did the install myself. Can't beat it, just give yourself a solid weekend to do the install.

You do know any vehicle with an o2 sensor does that right? A wideband will help keep an eye on things in actual driving. Say you get some bad fuel, or start running lean while towing, or be really rich while air filter gets dirty, etc. It'll let YOU know things are acting up, and to have some knowledge you will have otherwise not known.

Aight, I'll try and keep an eye on there. Seen some off brand leather, but no katzkin. I'll keep my eye out though...

No I did not know that. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars. I was more trying to give Gideon shit than prove a point... Haha

haha yeah I guess ill go ahead and answer ur question now Taylor ........
Sooooooo first off, if I remember correctly, when this was first brought up, u had inquired about what would be the "best" gauge to put in the empty hole in ur gauge pod. My response was an AFR gauge based on the fact that with u being boosted there is a much greater risk of u running too lean or too rich and fouling spark plugs or detonating ur motor. At that time there was no mention about any sort of wideband or standalone unit, so I simply answered ur question. The fact is that a gauge is just a gauge. U have no tuning capabilities with it, u can't control what it reads in any way, BUT it is the easiest and a lot of times the most accurate way to see what ur motor is doing. Sooooooo ur right ..... U don't NEED an AFR gauge. U don't NEED a gauge pod at all. But u asked about a gauge so I gave u the most educated answer I could.

Cam is exactly right. If ur vehicle has an ecu or any kinda computer system, it has the ability to sense when something is wrong, tell u about it, and in most situations adjust to it. The difference between a stock ecu and a wideband/piggy back or standalone is the tunability and the features. With a wideband product, u are hooking up a tuning system to ur stock ecu and working with it, in most cases "tricking" it to change things in its program, like a VAFC, Bullydog, or any other kind off plug and play tuner. The problem with them is that if u ever unplug that programmer then ur ecu will return to its stock program and in a lot of cases cause ur truck to not run correctly.

A standalone unit IS an ecu, so u unplug ur stock ecu and plug the stand alone unit in. Standalone units are much more tunable. They have the ability to control and change things that a stock ecu does not, consequently they are generally much more expensive also. An AEM EMS and Hondata are good examples of top of the line standalone units. Here's a link to a somewhat easy to read article on piggy back and standalone systems ..... http://forums.superstreetonline.com...-tuning-standalone-ecu-vs-piggy-back-ecu-eng/

All in all, gauges read information, wideband and standalone units tune motors. They are both helpful. ;)

Oh and Zach, I put a lot of u's in there just for u! :D

Stop doin that!! I get mad too easy! Lol

To go along with what Gideon said, Toyota ECM are "read only" and cannot be reflashed like most other, namely domestic, manufacturers. But, how much power could our motors really make, especially to warrant a standalone ECM?
