    Yeah
Just like engine work. Put the push rods exactly where they were.

noo like you have a new crankshaft you dont install it with used bearings to try it out...you use virgin parts..yeah if you take apart your dads engine you reuse the bearings and put them back exactly where they came from...

yep, i forgot dads is a 556 and mines a 223 wylde  , after reading all the replies the only this i'm worried about is when i run the same fired casing through the neck gets out of round.

definitely not being a jerk, i wasn't gonna drop the bolt, i was just gonna hold open the bolt drop a round in and ease down the bolt and see if it closes.
bolt has been shot, the action feels like dads colt which has ~50 rounds through it.
interesting, is this a rule for just seeing if the gun will function without firing?
yep, sorta forgot about that, if it was a true 223 chamber would it even go in?

If you "ease" the bolt closed it may not seat. The extractor needs to snap over the case rim.

You really shouldn't be using empty brass any how. Live rounds in a safe situation, or dummy rounds.

true, it was the only safe thing (IMO) to do though and safety is paramount.
i do need to pick up some dummy rounds to.

Yup, works great. Don't have to go looking for my brass on the ground or hit the guy next to me with my brass.

I do, it catches my 458 Socom brass so I do not lose any in the tall grass at my lease. It is the cheap mesh bag one with Velcro attachment strap, it works if installed correctly.

It was between this and a TA-11E. I am really fond of this scope. It does BAC really well on 1.5. It is more solid than it looks. And the glass is every bit as clear as an ACOG if not clearer. An ACOG will take more abuse though. I still may pick one up down the road but I wanted a more precise reticle for now. We will see how the mark 4 holds up first.
