There is an NCAA college football thread. Take your collegiate fanboy talk elsewhere.

Do you know why college coaches do poorly in the NFL? They have trouble working with a salary cap.

Without NCAA football, the NFL would have a hard time existing. GTFO college hater.

Anyone buying the conspiracy theory that the NFL caused the blackout to try and change the momentum for the Niners? That game was brutal up until that point.

I don't watch college ball, but I can see where in some ways it's harder. Granted turnover happens in the pros but best case you have a guy 4 years in a college system.

Agreed that the salary cap is a factor in the pros that you don't get in college.

No. BOTH teams went through the power outage, and if anything, the Ravens let their momentum slip for a little. Can't knock on the Niners for something that happened to both teams and they responded better.

Doesn't matter anyway, 49ers came up short at the end. And that stadium is old as shit. When it got revamped after Katrina, the old wiring and electrical stuff didn't get replaced. Only structural and decorative items were upgraded. Same thing happened in SF with our shitty stadium. Thank god a new one is in the works

Already in that thread, too. But, it doesn't matter which thread it is, college football still reigns supreme over the NFL.

Maybe it's just cuz we're from the south, where college football is religion. Either way, we're right and you're wrong :p

I saw that report this morning, pretty damning. This reminds me of the field issues in Washington. All the "talk" the NFL does about player safety yet it's constantly shown to be a lot of talk to avoid law suits.

I'm not saying the power failure is a safety issue at all. But ignoring reports and doing nothing is the NFL normal.

The last link you posted said "The storm tore holes in the roof of the Superdome and caused water damage to its electrical systems, and more than $330 million was spent repairing and upgrading the stadium." They have played a lot of games since, but its hard not to think it played a part

I stand corrected then. Either way, the stadium is old as shit and I'm not so sure where it can go from here. I'm sure the city of NO has a ton of issues that need to be addressed before they put more $ into the stadium. And you can't really build a new one somewhere else because it's in the heart of the city. The NFL had already given a lot to revamp the stadium. So it's hard to say where they can get help. I hope they get it addressed tho, somehow. NO has hosted the most superbowls and its really no wonder, there's so much to do there

And it's usually neutral ground because the Saints suck.

That is true..my nephew's girlfriend is from Alabama and that's all she knows for football. Blows her mind up here (she lives in Rhode Island now) to see the pro game be front and center.
