I'd shop around to seen if you can get better rates. I recently switched to State Farm and my yearly cost went from 1300 to 800.

FWIW my premiums did go up at my old insurance provider when I got the Taco. The car I previously had was considered "premium performance" so I thought they would go down when I got rid of it but sure enough it went up around 150 for the year.

I ended up going with Geico after having Allstate for 6 yrs. When I got my Tacoma Allstate wanted over $115 a month went to Geico and was told $90. Now that I'm over 26 and finally got a break from the insurance company "being male" my Geico payment is $78.

Note currently I'm 27 and my plan also has no deductible for damage, so this will raise the cost of my premium over the standard deductible.

A truck is more prone to roll overs. So in comparison it's less safe than his two cars.

Again take the homeowners and auto policies you have to an independent agent they will quote a bunch of places and get you the best deal they can. I have my home and my 2008 DCSB 4x4 and my wifes 2007 honda fit sport through kemper insurance with full coverage with 250 collision and 100 comp deductables and we are paying 900 a year in auto insurance for both vehicles not just one. Give the independent guy a chance to see what he can do as a package for your home and vehicles you may be suprised.

I don't know who told you this, but they were smoking something wack.

Call USAA, get your cars over there and then get your home too. When you get a moment, move your banking. You will never be happier.

I have used them to buy a house, buy a car, and file an auto claim. Never been happier, never seen a company handle this stuff so smoothly.

Wow it must be nice to pay for insurance in the US. I pay $200 a month for the most basic coverage I can get on my 2000 taco in Ontario, with a clean record.

I would prefer to find the best insurance company than the best deal. It is frustrating to deal with insurance companies so if I have to pay a little more to get good service I will.

I don't have Allstate but my gf and mom have both (within the past year) been hit in their cars by people with it. It's been a nightmare for them. If you think Allstate treats their customers like crap, think about how they treat others affected by their customers. My gf had to be hospitalized and they refused to pay any medical bills even when it was their insured customers 100% complete fault for hitting her. RIDICULOUS! I've never seen an insurance company act the way they do. With that said, when you see actions like that it makes you not even want to consider them for insurance.

They must love you ! The price quote I just got off the phone with Progressive, and the only thing that "Progressed " was the price. Good lord
these people have us by the nuts.. The wanted 912.23 more than I currently pay. The roll over factor is the bitch.. I will keep at it.. damn..

Ouch looks like your getting F'd in the A. I am through allstate as well and every time I show up at the office they are always complimenting my truck, never had any issues even after my accident.

    A) I'm not eligible for USAA's I durance but they're y bank and they're awesome. Friend uses their insurance and they are too notch.

    B) Allstate does seem to be a bit on the high side. But I keep them. For my Tacoma and renter's I pay $116/month. I could probably find cheaper insurance, it's true. But when my neighbor left his truck out of gear and it rolled down the hill, across my parents' lawn, over the bushes, totaled my mom's car and damaged mine State Farm (his insurance) gave us nothing but trouble: they promised to get a tow truck to take care of my mom's car and got her a rental. Three days later they called and told us the rental car was canceled because we hadn't driven an undriveable vehicle to the shop. Ya know, the one they said they'd arrange a tow truck for. Then they said my car wasn't damaged, then said it wasn't in the police report. Holy crap, can those idiots read?

Now here's Allstate: my sister walked across the road and was hit by a car driving 40mph. She was thrown over the car, broken skull, massive brain trauma, broken spine, broken leg, broken ribs, collapsed lung, etc, etc, etc. She spent the next 3 months in the hospital, the next year learning to walk, talk, eat, and drink again. And our Allstate agent told my parents to have the bills sent to his office, he'd figure it out and pass the rest of it on to the health insurance. They maxed out a $250,000 policy and their agent didn't even blink before writing the checks.

I had a little fender bender and got the same sort of service on a $1200 claim, it was taken care of and I didn't have to worry about it. I'll pay a little extra for that.
