had my 12' a year and dash is flaking off!!??

my 12' has just 15k on it and the passenger side dash above glovebox where the black perferated looking part is has 2 spots where its flaked off and is silver now!!! anyone had this happen? wonder if warranty would do anything?

Warranty work right there, take it in.

 

I bought one of those dash rug things... $45 and with the FL sun it helps keeping it from cracking.

a dash rug wouldnt cover this part..its not the top of the dash its the black part right about glove box with the little indentions in it

 

im just afraid if they replaced that part of dash it may make stuff rattle from then on since u would have to take most the dash apart for it...it sucks! my 2008 never did this

If it rattles, take it back and make them fix it under warranty also.

The dash is just painted. Instead of replacing the whole thing (too extensive/expensive) the dealer will just attempt to touch-up the paint. The dash mat might be a good idea to keep it from happening again but don't secure it with tape or vecro or you'll end up with more damage. The one pictured is just tucked inbetween the windshield and dash.

 

Ya mine comes right to the glove box door. Kinda hangs over it but it dosent get in the way.

I thought there was a TSB for dashes that were flaking.

u guys really think they will try and touch it up instead of replacing it?? i might not be able to take in it for it til my 20k oil change is due...this really sucks, and im def not gna cover it up with a dashmat like that

Mine did this after like 2K miles. Mine was near the vent for the defrost. I immediately went to the dealer about it. They took pictures ordered the entire dash, and replaced it in one days time. No problems since. Absolutely no rattling or anything abnormal. Worth the time to get a new one.
