Woohoo! My B.A.M.F rear shock relocation kit showed up! Now I just need shocks and leafs

 

i'll talk to dad and see what he wants to do, i could get adapters or i could buy the set off of you and just pop off the tire and put it on my rims since its a 20x10-9 tire.

 

I'd just swap tires instead of dicking with adapters.

I'm on the same page brother. Gave Doug my deposit for my springs today, ordered my 12" Kings from Sonny @ DSM last week and my BAMF kit should be here this week!

 

Yea, I'm gonna go with an All-pro expo pack probably, and some 12" foxes (if they fit). Then its time to start saving up for the Total Chaos +2 LT kit , and then 8" coilovers, and then secondary shock hoops, and then secondary shocks, And then Fiberglass fenders...and then new tires...and then the 4x4 conversion...And then the truck is finally paid off!!! WOOHOO!!!(+5 years probably )

 

wait... 4x4 conversion? What happened to trading your truck?
I'm planning to gusset the front and add secondary towers before going LT to have all the extra strength before the kit is even installed, and a nice way to space out the cost too

EDIT: If you plan to go LT in the front, why not SUA instead of Expos?

You guys are gonna love the towers with 12" rear shocks .. night and day from MT replacement shocks

 

Thought about LT in the back...but honestly i think the 12" in the back will be fine for any fast stuff I do...and I want to keep my clearance in the back for any rock crawling i do so no SUA .

And yea, sat down and went over finances the other day and figured out trading in for 4x4 is going to be a looooooong way off, so I might as well just build up the prerunner and keep it.

So now I slooooowly start buying up parts until i finally have it all and can do the coversion . I'll still probably have the parts and the conversion done before I'd be ready to trade in

 

Agreed on what you said though, plan on having everything gusseted and adding the secondary shock mounts before I buy the kit.

 

Did you go with the 12" adjustable compression Kings?

EDIT: Yeah, 12" Kings with resi and comp adjusters. Install in my build thread. Get some resi mounts too .. I used the Icon ones temporarily but plan to sell those with the shocks (if anyone ever wants to make an offer instead of just bitch that my price is too high)

 

I ordered the ones without the adjusters. Once they get to DSM, Sonny is gonna have them valved to Tacoma specs. Then it's up to me and some seat time to determine fine tuning.

I like your rear setup. Considering same or similar. I'd really like to get the factory hanger changed out for a standard style that doesn't hang down an grab rocks. Kinda want to do it all at once, shock relocate, 12" shocks, shackle flip/hangers and bump cans. I haven't really seen a setup that is dialed in with the flips yet however.

 

yeah I was looking at the flips .. lots of back and forth information on those.
in the end I decided I needed more time to decide before changing up the hangars

I'm really just hung up on the decision for the rear, stay SOA and try to get the most out of it or just get the Defined kit with beefed up springs for my rear bumper setup and stuff as much shock as I can up in the wheel well without getting into the bed, strap it and call it good. I really dont think the clearance loss on SUA it that bad, its right next to the tire.
