I'm packing up boxes as I write this. The 20" could go out today if you got your order in, otherwise, tomorrow morning is the next pickup.

On the 20" bar, the outer 2" on each side are flood. I think this is a much better setup than all spot. You are still getting 32 Spot elements in the center but with the benefit of a bit more fill lighting to the sides and up front. The floods still toss a good distance. In my opinion there is no noticeable loss of distance in going with a full spot vs a combo bar in the 20" size.

Hands down the 20" combo. It fills the space perfectly and throws far more light than the other options. It really is the perfect light for that application.

If cost is a big factor, the 12" double row in combo is a good choice but it doesn't look quite right in the big opening. The small pods are good for a discrete option.

Ive got an ARB and am planning on putting a 20" or 30" under the top tube, but I had a question. Is there any way to move the mounting locations in? The 30" light bar will fit, but the mounting locations are about 21"s wide give or take. Any Ideas? Anyone have a pic of it on an ARB?

The mounting locations are pretty fixed. They can be flipped in or out but that is it. For instance, the 20" Dual Row bar can have two mounting widths: from center to center of the mount bolt holes is either 21.25" or 23.625" depending on orientation.

Most people that have a mounting situation like this (mounting tabs too far in or out) typically use a piece of small flat stock to space out their mounting points to the desired width. Bolt one end of the flat stock to the light tabs on the bumper and the other end to the light.

Some photos of the 20" dual row bar are attached below this post and show the mounting bracket and how it can be oriented.

Just wondering if the 6" light bars are in? I'm finally ready to make my order and I'm just curious if there will be any wait. I want a 20" dual and the 6".

the light mounts on the ARB are 20 and 5/8 inches wide. If i use some flat stock to accommodate the difference in length to the tabs, do you have any ideas on how to reduce the amount of vibrations going through the whole mounting system? All of my previous driving lights vibrate or bounce quite-a-bit. Thoughts?

I mounted mine directly to the bumper... I didnt put any rubber or anything under them like the stock brackets had. Wonder if its worth doing that...

Well, there are a couple of things to think about.

Were your previous lights Halogen or HID?

There are different causes of vibration. Filament bounce and mounting brackets being the top two causes.

HID lighting has the most complaints about vibration and it is largely caused by filament bounce. With HID lighting you have a very long filament. This filament vibrates and bounces around quite a bit, regardless of how sturdy or isolated your mounting setup is. It is just a byproduct of the design. This vibration can become very tiresome and annoying to the eyes when they are run for long periods. This type of vibration is greatly reduced with Halogen lighting because of a shorter and better supported filament as well as how it hits the reflector. A vibration along an inch distance forward to back has a huge effect on the output due to where it hits the reflector. The halogen setup has a much shorter filament running side to side, which has less of an impact. LEDs eliminate this type of vibration completely because of the solid state nature and the lack of filament. I am not trying to be a salesman here even though I might sound like one. LEDs simply do not have this drawback.

The other big issue is with mounting brackets. A lot of times you will find that once you are dialed in to an angle that there is some play in the bracket for the light or the housing is plastic and flexes a little. When off-road this really becomes apparent. The LEDs are all aluminum construction and are very rigid. The brackets are solid aluminum and there is no way they are flexing and I am sure those people who have received their lights already can confirm this. The way the brackets mount to the light is with a stainless socket cap bolt plus a locking bolt. There is no way these lights are going to move around once you have them dialed in to your preferred angle.

In your setup we are only talking about .5-1" on either side for an extension. As long as you use a decent thickness piece of metal (not sheet metal) and use a decent bolt to the light tab, you will have no issues. The bar comes with rubber isolation pads for under the feet, as RuggedT mentioned. Are they necessary? Well, they don't hurt, but I can't notice the difference and I ran a 50" LED bar without the isolators through 30k miles of Central and South America with plenty off off-road driving.

The ARB is a solid bumper and has a lot of weight to it, which alone helps to dampen some vibration unlike some of the lighter walled tube bumpers. It is mounted very solidly to the frame as well which helps. I don't see any issues with vibration with your setup at all but I am curious to hear what your experiences were before.

cool, thanks for the explanation! Ill see what I can muster up around the house or the hardware store as far as a mounting bracket.
