    Yar, drilled a pilot hole and used the hole saw with the center bit. I'm not used to steel, mainly done woodworking over the years. Need to figure out rpms, pressure and such. It starts wobbling in the hole drilled by the center bit and can't get solid, consistent bites on the steel. I'm too used to wood where once the hole saw bites in, pretty much done.

    Talking to one of the guys at work, he recommended sandwiching the surface between two pieces of plywood. Another option is Lenox makes a bit specific to sheet metal as opposed to the bimetal bit I'm using now. Might be worth giving that a whirl.

    If you're going to the store anyway, get a circle cutter as i described above. They sell them everywhere, Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight. Doesn't have to be too fancy unless hole cutting is your profession.
