Thanks for the offer! I don't mind doing it at all for TW folks. You all have been great and very patient in an undesirable circumstance. Of course I would have rather done it while I was out of sports due to surgery, but I still don't mind taking the time to do it. Plus the girlfriend is gone til the middle of june so that is one less time consuming distraction I have to juggle :D

If I have trouble with these I will seek help on the PL5300s when they come in but since I am bulk ordering padded envelopes I will find it locally so they don't go to waste.

ok i need some input by tomorrow morning guys. The Pop N Locks come packaged similar to this:
[IMG]I am trying not to take a loss on shipping and can do these two options:

I can put them in a priority mail box that is 2" short in one direction so I would have to bend the cardboard backing on the pop n lock clamshell back.

    or

I can put it in a flat cardboard envelope that fits it, but is not as rigid as a box.

if you can bend the clam shell without bending the part, I would say that is the best way to go. but looking at the picture, I dont see any extra clam shell to bend. but I didnt order and electric lock so I dont know if it is different.

I am think in a priority envelope they will be fine, but I am only one of many in the order so I am perfectly fine with going for what you all think is best

Please do whatever you need to do to protect yourself from taking a loss. I would think one of those padded envelops would work great. If you need more money to keep from taking a loss I think everyone should pitch in. You shouldn't have to worry about it. How much do you need?

well i think the cheapest option (the one I originally quoted for everyone) is to get the free priority mail flat rate boxes. They only come in boxes and cardboard envelopes. The dimensions of 1 product package Maureen sent me are: 1 1/2" deep x 4 1/2" wide X 10 3/4" long.

These will easily fit in a cardboard envelope and I would pack them with newpaper/past homework :)

+1 for the padded envelope, but those could get spendy. Do whatever ya have to as long as it gets to me in one piece. :D

If it is in one piece, then how are you going to assemble it to install???:p

I work at UPS... I know shitty. The only real advice I can give is use way too much tape. You cant go wrong with more! I see thousands of boxes open up every year due to poor tape jobs. Other than that the box situation is on your discretion... Thanks again...:D

Daniel, you may have to make the call once you have the product in hand. I know you want to turn them around quickly, but once you have it, you may determine that your chosen option won't work.

I do not mind sending a little more to cover shipping. I agree, you should not take a loss here.

Since mine is a power version, I am a little more concerned about the shipping. Just a little. Had I gone manual, I would have not cared at all.

Bottom line. I'll work with you on this.

Daniel, if you have underestimated the cost of shipping and the packaging let us know. We are getting these dirt cheap. You have spent a lot of time on this and you should not have to pay anything extra out of pocket. Let us know how much out you will be for all the orders and I for one will be glad to donate to help defray the extra cost. I know it would be a real pain for each one to send in more but maybe a few of us could take care of it.

Dan - I'm willing to pay more to cover the extra shipping costs. Using a padded envelop should be fine. Again, thanks for your work on this.
