Do long travel lowers still need to be torqued to 100?

    Lots of expensive shit
Provided the bushings have a crush sleeve. I've seen some kits that don't. Not torquing it enough will make it get knocked out of alignment.

That would be a cool way to do it. I just don't like panhard bars. It's a symetrical thing, cause i'm ocd like that.

Maybe mix and match and do some frankenstein leaf packs? Ha.

    Then use a Watts-Linkage, it'll be symmetrical

Or Wishbone it and move the gas tank:cool:

You know you wanna do it :p

    So...

I'm thinking of going LT on my semi-daily. Down time is not a issue as I heaved other cars.

My concern however is what happens to my payload and tow capacity?

I'd still like to be able to throw at least one of not both dirt bikes in the bed and pull an occasional 4'000# trailer with brakes.

    I have a 05 V6 Acess cab 4x4.

Also how much Street side stability can I expect to lose?

alot of metal, small engine, decent travel.
caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
pulling the trailer would be pretty interesting, 2 bikes, no problem.
stock you have about 4 inches of uptravel in the rear, with lt you will probably have over 9 inches. so when you hit a bump your truck will sway like a mofo, because it will take longer to hit the bump stop.... make sense?
i will be towing my boat on occasion with my truck.

been lurking here in this thread for quite some time, and with all of these newer companies developing LT kits for the tacoma I have a question, or a few.

with either the camburg or total chaos kit and even the built right(since these are the more popular ones), with an 8" coilover, is the limiting point for uptravel the coilover itself, arms/bumpstops, cv axles(for 4wd)?

reading the solo motorsports thread, it is advertised once can get up to 19" of travel with a 10" coilover(of course with modifications to make that fit). can those same modifications be applied to the aforementioned kits or any other kits to achieve better numbers?

    thanks in advance

Its not just bumps but wind and turns too, your going to have a hard time staying on the road. When the trailer tries to track to the side, from wind or turns on the road at high speed, the only thing keeping it straight is the leafs ability to control sway, and LT rear leafs do not have any. Now when your trailer gets hit with wind obviously its going to want to pull your truck off the road, then your rear will sway like a mofo which is going to make your truck track like a 3 legged dog. Now imagine trying to fight the trailer around every curve in the road too, have fun! :D

Mine gets 19" with a 10" coilover and no mods ;)

Yeah, just say good bye to the coil buckets and build an engine cage.
