darn it, you're making me second guess my decision to go +6, if i keep my truck streetable then i wont have to get a 1st gen tundra, and maybe i could get a 60's mustang or GTO

Now, its not All rainbows and sugar plumbs over here. My lower ball joint is still the weak link, and my cast lift spindle is not the greatest. Going to run a uniball lower eventually and then have to go with a fabricated spindle then too. Then there's hub choice. 35, 44. Not just bolt on and go. Also these Tacoma steering wracks blow. Big $$$ to get rid of it.

that's why i was thinking of getting a 1st gen tundra
 it seemed a little wide for just being a 3-3.5 over kit but it didn't seem that wide.
a cast spindle is better than the stock though isn't it?
the american motorsports kit uses d35 hubs (i think that's what alex told me)
why do the steering racks blow? to fragile?

Cast spindle might be a little stronger since its much thicker than our stock spindle, but a fabricated spindle is going to be the strongest by far. Yes my truck is wide as shit. D35 retains the 5 on 4.5 lug pattern. I'm probably going to a 44 hub since my 9" is already 5 on 5.5 no sense in changing everything over to keep the 5 on 4.5 the racks blow because they aren't meant for the abuse or travel they get put through.

Ahh I remember the days of dreaming. Whenever I see your posts all I see is dollar signs $$$$$$$ ahahah not trying to be a debby downer or anything just sayin. Just build what you can afford and have fun with it. Dont be one of those guys that has a project for 8 years, finishes it and takes his truck to the desert twice a year when it's finished.....But if you have the funds laying around, go full kill, race front end, links and a cage then get a nice DD tow rig.

You sound lime my dad, I have so many projects I would like to do, build a buggy, make my truck usable on the whoops, start a gun shop, ect...
Yeah, I understand the project thing, I have a friend who built a really nice buggy, it took him 2 years and he takes it out maybe 3 times a year just for the weekend.

Eventually I want to go full race but for now I want to keep the bed, and keep the DD capability

You could build a pretty nice buggy for the cost of what you're talking about dumping in the truck. Then you have a good dd, a tow vehicle, and a whoops vehicle.

Yeah, I like the idea of a LT truck but I'm not sure why, I will eventually build a 2 seater buggy that's narrow, four wheel drive and midtravel for the woods

The AMS kit can run D35 or D44.

You can also specify a different snout style if you want.

Yeah been a long time since I've been back to the SD chat thread! Weird thing is, recently I've been doing a lot of grinding and my hands are tense and have the jitters.. Not sure what that's about! :D

It's the funnest part, when I finish a truck I always end up selling it soon after because I get bored.
