I had the same problem with mine. I was super pissed when attaching the brackets to the face plate 3 of the 4 of mine cracked too. to remedy i added copious amounts of JB Weld to the supposed screw holes.

Also took me forever and lots of burst forehead blood vessels to get the stupid clock out of factory trim. Then it doesnt fit 100% in the Scosche trim one side is slightly off.

All in all lots of beer to help ease nerves and the addition to an unknown antenna adapter to finally get sound and radio, Happy:)

Yea man my clock trim was off too, it was really noticeable with the hazard button. I then realized that I had installed it wrong, there was a clip or something (I think I mentioned in my above post) that wasn't placed properly and preventing the clock from pushing all the way in to the scosche trim.

Either way, that radio is never coming out

Like almost every how-to I've read here, especially the ones that say easy, it's something I could do again should I need to.. in 1/10th the time, but gosh I really don't want to mess with it again. Takes a hands on crash course to really understand pictures and text for even the easiest of modifications.

Anyone have issues with fit? The wire bundles make it a super tight squeeze behind the Pioneer DD. I noticed that the stock radio is shallower on the bottom half than the top. Which makes sense cuz that's where it appears to be tight on the Pioneer. Anyways do you guys have any tricks up your sleeves to accommodate the wires better?

I can get it in there, but its a royal PITA. And as I put in an amp kit and the SiriusXM tuner in the future I'm afraid its only going to get tighter back there.

Reviving this thread. Any tips on the wire bundle and fitment? I purchased an Pioneer Appradio 4 with the Metra dash kit. Everything wired up and works great with the Crux interface kit but that Metra kit is garbage. I spend 30 minutes soldering and wiring then 3 hours trying to get the fitment right for the side pieces on the radio!

Should I switch to a Scosche or American International kit? I can have this thing pulled apart and back together in no time but that damn dash kit is horrible. Thanks for any help!

    This is a 2015 Tacoma

Used the plastic ones. The factory mount placed it too far forward so I couldn't clip the new Metra cover on at the top. I just ordered the Scosche kit. I'm hoping everything mounts as one piece like the factory setup is. @kevinsc
