Pretty sure 2012 is different from '05-'11.
The disable procedure MAY work, but the best way to go is to find someone with an '05-'11 who wants DRLs and trade them flashers and jumpers.

Non-DRL has an 8-pin flasher and a shorting jumper on the fuse block.
DRL has a harness on the fuse block, 12-pin flasher plugged into it, and the shorting jumper removed.

    ??????

Must be new... hasn't been an option for anything prior.

Unless you consider turning your headlights on to be the option.

As soon as I start the Truck, the DRL come on. It doesn't matter whether it is in gear (automatic) or if the park brake is in use. I can shut them off at the stalk.

Those of you who have--or are considering--disabling your truck's "Daytime Running Lights". Might want to check with an attorney and ask how much your increased liability might cost should you be involved in a wreck. Those lights are there for a reason. Would you consider disabling your taillights???

That is a little different. They don't give you an option to disable tail lights with a switch on the stalk

My taillights only comes on when I press the brakes. IIRC drl is required in Canada.

drl's are optional except in cananandia. no legal issues I know of...your state may vary

personally I always turn on headlights going to work, headed home after work,
and anytime on highway...no matter how much sun there is...being seen a mile
away is better than being seen only 100 yards away
