To those running front plates. Did you let the dealership screw a hole into your front bumper?

There was no way I could let them do it to my truck.

    It was already done

Your set up may scratch the bumper if it is in contact

Mine was already done too. I don't run a front plate though. I hate the holes, but they're going away soon enough.

    Surprisingly, mine did not.
    USED truck!
Previous owner had the floor mat recall performed in April 2011 in San Diego, I bought it in December 2011 here in the LA area... PO didn't drive it more than another 3,000 or so after the recall.

So not only wasn't it on the truck when the PO had it (brought it in from out of state?), the San Diego dealership and my Chevy dealership didn't do it.

I did it... but not the "factory way"... I used a proper tag mounting bracket. Still drills through the bumper, but it's not just a plate screwed to the bumper.

I caught the guy before he was gonna screw a hole in mines. Told me I need to run a front plate. Told him if he puts a hole in it, they are replacing it with a new one.

Ohio law requires front plate, dealership drilled holes. I worked at that dealership when my truck came in. I drilled the holes in my front bumper.

Got mine used, so yes there were already holes in it, but sometime in the near future I'm upgrading from the stock bumper, problem solved!

Uh they won't replace it. All they do is have their local body company fill in the holes and respray the front bumper.

They replaced the trunk on my TSX when I didn't want a spoiler. But that's the Acura stealership.

I bought my truck used in AZ. They don't require a front license plate. But since I was driving up to WA with it. WA does require a front plate. So when I received my plates, I drilled my own holes. Doesn't bother me 1 bit.

Oregon requires too and will drill holes usually once they come off the truck during check in.

Came with them when I bought it. #$!* virginia DMV. TN only requries a back plate. I hate the look and holes in the front but nothing can be done now.

I didn't let them....they don't enforce it too terribly bad here in the Pacific Northwest.

Mine was already done, but I need to have a front plate here anyways so it was no biggie, the holes in the bumper will never be seen.

it depends if the paperwork is signed also.

and there is also the 30 day option to return it, so technically, it would be in their best option to give you the truck how you want it and let the owner deal with the regulations, at least here.

here being Hawaii that there are tons of cars that don't run front plates even though it's required.

mine came with holes drilled, but I fab'd a mount plate to shift the plate up and shimmed it away from the holes so it won't rub on anything.
