I did it and placed rubber washers between plate and bumper. Now if the dealer would only quit putting license plate frames on front and back every time it is serviced.

Missouri has front plates also,so didn't have much choice.Thinking about moving the plate down to the black lower part.On the bumper, where it's at,does cut some air flow to the rad.Sure that it's not that much, but any extra is always a good thing.

Glad I don't have to run a front plate, but if u did, I would go with one if the Dodge Ram front plate holders I've seen people do. Fits perfectly on bottom of bumper.

Seems to me the tag kinda hides the holes I don't care as long as it stays there.

Yes, I watched them put it on. Big deal. The front is required here, so what does it hurt anything if it's always there.

I didn't care either way. If it bothers me enough I can use it as an excuse to get a plate bumper. Here is how the conversation will go with the wife-
"Honey, I just don't feel safe with the holes drilled in the front bumper. I think the structural integrity of the front bumper has been sacrificed and I worry if we were in an accident that one or all of us may be injured. I think for safety's sake I should think about our family first and get a bumper that will protect us from an event of catastrophic proportions."

No. My state (Mississppi) doesn't require front tags. As such and being a "new truck" purchase, I would NOT have bought the truck had it been done.

I use to run with no plates. Until I had a boss that was a sarge at our local PD.

yes I did because this is a truck, not a piece of jewelry and we need
plates on the front, so there is one recommended place for the plate
designed for self-tapping screws. I decided not to wet my pants and
cry about it, like a normal adult

    enough to go over stuff
They drilled mine on. I took off the plate and painted the screws black to match the truck and put them back in to fill the holes. I keep my registration sticker on the window so I dont get pulled over because they think its a new truck.

Those look the same as screw caps. Just paint matched.

front plates are law here in illinois, so it was done when i picked it up new. however, i don't run one so i purchased "bumperplugs" which work quite well to cover up the unsightly holes. they were even able to match my factory paint. a simplistic, painted plug, sure, but effective :D

I live in PA which doesn't require front plates. I bought my truck in New Jersey which does require front plates. The holes were there and I wasn't really happy with that. So a few years after I bought the truck I decided to do something about it. While traveling along the PA turnpike one night I saw my opportunity. Bang! Clipped that buck with the right front corner of my truck! $100 deductible for comprehensive and no more license plate holes! The things I do to have my truck looking just right!

This is a joke by the way. I'd hate to have my insurance company come after me for telling a joke.

I don't run a front plate in Eugene, OR. The cops hardly notice, and the only cop who has said something was my ex-girlfriends dad... But he was cool. The only people they bother are the rice burners.

I wouldn't let them drill holes in my front bumper if i bought a 2nd gen. There's no reason to just put holes in a bumper when there are other options

It was done before I bought the truck. I did put foam behind the plate to stop it from rubbing on the paint though.

Mine came with holes already drilled too. I should have put foam or something under the the plate but it already rubbed through the paint. When I take off the license plate the truck looks like it has a milk mustache :(
