Does anyone know of a good mud tire that you could do a lot of driving on? I'm looking to go 285/70/17. I understand that all mud tires are gonna hum and probly wear faster than normal.

Try the Cooper STT. People are getting good mileage out of them. And theres deals out there you just have to search.

Alright this is killin me. I'm trying to do some price shopping for these tires. Why are the tires that measure 285/70/17 so much more than the tires that measure 33 by xxx?

I had 40,000 on my last set of Baja MTZ's when I traded my truck in. Only smart thing to do to the new truck was put the same thing on it, so I did. You have some humming but not much at all. You can still hold a conversation and talk on your cell no problem. This will probably be the only tire I will ever purchase from now on. A little on the expensive side though. Mine are 285-70-17.
