I suspect this TSB on the rear bump stops bottoming out doesn't apply to an '05 DC Sport edition Toy?

 

The hell with mentioning a forum. If you have less than 36000 miles on the truck & print out the TSB, it says right there in their own freakin language what parts/services should be performed. FOR 4X4 AND PRERUNNERS = New 4 leaf packs, new TRD bilsteins all the way around & an alignment. They can argue over the phone but when it's their own writing in front of their face then the only thing that they need to check is your odometer. Period.

 

I think it does cover all 2nd gen prerunners and 4x4. If you're six lug and have a three leaf spring in your rear then you should be eligible.

If they're givin you shit already then I'd venture a guess that their dumbasses will try to use the mud as abuse to waste more of your time. Just reasonably wash it down, print out TSB & head on over & give'em a good smackdown with their own verbage in writing.

 

ok now i am even more P.O.ed b/c i drove up there and had to wait for 30 mins for them to tell me that all "his guys" have left, and that it will take an hour tmrw for them to pull my truck around and check the number. i was so mad my i started arguing with him and said hell u and me check it now. he was like thats against protocall. i had the tsb printed out and they said a man came in and toyota denied it, annyways isint it "dangours"to my saftey, and tomrow i am going to raise hell to get this done.

thats it... call the 800 # someone mentioned before and turn that dealership in. make sure u get the names of the dickheads that are givin u shit so they will get in trouble over this episode.

 

It's amazing to see the difference with Toyota dealers.
I have an '09 and went to a dealer where I didn't even buy the truck and didn't have a problem.
I brought the TSB paperwork.I told the advisor the truck rides bad with a load in back.I never mentioned bottoming out and they never asked or checked.
They told me they call Toyota and get back to me.
Later that day they called and said I was ok'd and they would order the parts.
The TSB was done without any hassle.
The service rep told me it's a $1685 job retail.So the dealer still makes a decent warranty money for the TSB job.

 

i am on the phone with the 800 and thr=e dude seems pretty helpful

 

i am about to go to the dealership...all they did on the 800# is give me a case number and said they would call back in a week, imma bout to lie and say i have to do hauling for work and i need the tsb to be performed asap!!!!!!

 

Keep in mind, that the 09's are not yet covered under the current TSB. Going in there with a truck saturated in mud isn't going to help your cause at all.

 

for the tsb how many leafs are on the new one cuz there is 3 on it now

 

The TSB gives you a fourth leaf.
