new 4runner looks like absolute donkey shit. I am lucky to have the last of the greatest 4runners, a
1999 gen3. highest stock clearance, least amount of body-attached bullshit in the era of attached-bullshit.

yeah gen1 and gen2 are cool too, but the clearance underneath a 4x4gen3 limited (11 inches) rocks

Front end ruins it for me, I like the rest of it, but that enormous front end consuming unnecessary grill just looks pretty damn fugly.

I guess I am a bit different in that I actually like the slight changes, but agree the grille looks like crap. I think the biggest downfall of the Tundra grills is that last vent at the top end near the hood. If they just cut that piece out and extended the hood down it would look so much better.

The new headlights are a bit of an improvement. The new grille and rear bumper are crimes against humanity. The sheetmetal on the sides is no worse than before, but no better.

What really gives this truck it's ugly though is the conflicting themes. Note the angular, squared off headlights and character creases along the bottom of the doors and over the fenderwells.

Then notice the cab and hood retain the same "pregnant whale" bulb shape and curves from the last generation.

The new GM trucks are ugly, but at least they said "we're going with angles, and we're sticking with it." This new Tundra is "stick some angles on our rounded truck. It's the same as this bullshit with the 2012/3013 Tacos...the new front end looks incredibly out of place because it was glued on to a body designed with an entirely different motif in mind.

Toyota needs to stop this "throw it at the wall and see if it sticks" design philosophy. It's hurting the kids.

I'm a fan of the stamped tailgate. Would love for mine to say "TACOMA" like that. The side profile isn't bad..the front kills it

I did a quick revised photoshop. Trimmed that top portion of the grille, made it an the bumper black, as well as door handles, and color matched side mirror.

Interesting how the tailgate handle has "Toyota" embossed on it. And the TRD OR will come with Michelin LTX A/T tires? That's a good improvement.

Im with i think about everyone else when i say the grill is kinda funny looking, however the colormatched, or i guess the platinum package, does help a lot. i really like the tailgate though!.
