What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Weight is the biggie..., but also better cooling for the brakes, better gas mileage, and usually stronger with resisting bends.

Steel is more versatile since you can pretty much fix a bend with a hammer in a pinch, (which I've had to do once ) where as aluminum will crack if hit hard enough... and you can't fix alloy with a hammer if you bend it....

Are you gonna be near Las Cruces at all?

 

Normally just west of Albuquerque in the Rio Puerco Basin.... sometimes about an hour and a half north on the Glorietta Mesa... but there are a lot of stuff south of Albuquerque as well. Don't know how far you'd be willing to travel

I would stick with the 16 inch rims. More choices in tires and easier to find.

 

Thanks. Do you think going to load d tire bfg ats will make a huge difference on my 2.7 on mpg?

 

It will go down but shouldn't be too much. Other tire brands may have the size you want but in a P rated. Are you stuck on the BFGs?

 

also, you can't fit 15's on 2nd gens

I like the look at bfgs lol. The p rated tires I seen don't have a good amount of thread on them like the lt load c or ds. I want something that's gonna perform well and look good you know.
