Glad you were able to find a box to call home in the area.

I have no comment in regards to the staff there. We'll just leave it with what you said.

Yes, so I'm glad too. Sorry you had a bad divorce with the place. Keep me posted about where you drop your anchor next, who knows!

To be honest, the crew at the CrossFit Lakewood (Jewell & Wadsworth), seemed more capable, but $150/month was a hard pill to swallow!

It doesn't hurt to try a few places and see what's the best fit for you. You don't want to sacrifice your experience because of price. $150 is towards the bottom end of fees anymore in the denver area.

Dude, I feel ya, but Crossfit is far from my only expense. $150 a month is WAY to rich for my blood, specially for 12 visits a month.

Well, I pay $100 for twelve visits, and I get $25 reimbursed by my health insurance company. I also run between 25 to 40 miles a week (half of the weekly miles are done on trails), so that works for me.

In good news, I have lost 5 lbs in two weeks, and my biceps and ab muscles are beginning to emerge!

Way to go for the reimbursement from the health insurance. I do Crossfit five days a week and usually cycle four days a week, mtb and road. Not always the smartest thing to do, because I can be pretty worked from Crossfit WOD then have a training ride that same day. But I do enjoy both.

If I wasn't working out for free I wouldn't be doing crossfit. Like stated above 2100 a year is pure stupid. For that kind of money I could build a squat rack, buy a nice bar, bumper weights and some rings and call it good. Oh and a used rower.

I can definitely appreciate what crossfit has done for the industry though, it's gotten tens of thousands of people to quit using a bunch of homo ass machines and start doing functional bar bell movements. It's like anything else though, you get out of it what you put in. I see people come into my gym all the time expecting it to be a miracle system, yet they aren't willing to put fourth 100% effort. They eat like shit and half ass the workouts and wonder why they're still fat.

Well, A) I can swing the $75 per month and NOT hurt my budget. B) I have NO SPACE in apt to have the necessary equipment. C) I enjoy the camaraderie with other (female ;) ) Crossfiters. I'm new (comeback, really) to this town, and it helps to meet people in other places other than work or a bar.

Not aimed at anyone in particular, but just remember, your also paying for good coaching. Dont get me wrong, theres alot of over priced boxes out there with horrible coaches who are just trying to make a buck. But then there are those great ones with oly coaches, powerlifting coaches, mobility coaches, endurance coaches (and i dont mean 1 guy certified in everything crossfit, i mean outside specialists), that push you to the next level as a competitor and as an athlete. More often than not when your in your garage gym, you dont have perfect form, your snatch and clean and jerk will never properly develop, you dont have people to push you when your at the vomit point, and so on. Just my thoughts again not directed at anyone or meant to be criticizing. Coaches and others at the box see your movements and help make you more efficient because you cant watch yourself.

Well Said, you are paying for the coaching. We do have great coaches at our box.

i pay like 115 a month for unlimited classes. to add my wife it is only another 50 bucks and she get unlimited classes also. i think thats a good deal, and i like going in and having a coach push me. i like the competition of it also, i always pick the person that is better then me in the class and then i try to keep pace with them or out lift them. it helps give me that extra little push.

I'm going to sign up after flag football season is over. EMT's get discounts (yay) but still kind of pricey. Even with 20 gyms to choose from in my area.

BTW: what's the deal with beards and crossfit?
