If you ask John not very well :D but he doesnt care now that he is all armored up and shit. Probably plenty of snow but I bet you still break through the ice because of those warm days last weekend.

when I was up there, It specifically said no bicycles. I saw no signs specifically regarding motor vehicles.

Though I am sure that those are discouraged or not legal.

Just called them, can't drive anywhere on state land other than those two mentioned trails^
On the other hand they did say I could petition for it, and I think I shall.

If the petition fails, we could try a special use permit.

It's worth a shot but I doubt they'd let a special permit go through with such 'heavy reprocussians' as they'd see it. Really we'd just be widening the trail in the one section it needs it most. The rest we'd be able to drive just fine, and there are some FUN obstacles on that path. It'd be a mix of mud and rock crawling.

Huh, I feel the petition won't be approved. At least with the SUP, it applies only to us, and only on the dates we specify.

Either way, we've got some options to explore!

Yeah that would be awesome. And at the time I drove past the gate, it had been knocked down by someone. Could have been wind but I doubt it. There were no signs at all so I went up it. But yeah I doubt they'd let us have a permit to drive it. Locals fought it hardcore when they were trying to establish the hiking trail itself.

Yeah one of my good friends used to work for the state DOT putting down those car counting strips across roads. He drove up there all the time for work in state trucks and he said he found lots of good places to drive around up there. We both are planning on heading up there at some point this summer if we can get our schedules to work.
