That's just one reason it's best to learn how to do the install yourself. Another good reason is that (if you do your research and aren't lazy) you will do a better job with you own install because you care about it more and will pay more attention to detail.
    x2

No question about it. Going by the numbers, 37s would bring you almost exactly back to the stock ratio and RPMs. You also have to consider the fact that you'll have a lot more rotational mass with the 37s and will want to gear slightly lower to compensate. I'm running 37s/5.29s now, and the balance of power in the city and low RPMs is just about perfect. Even 5.71s wouldn't be bad for city driving and highway under 80mph.... ;)

Personally, I'd reccomend you go with 5.29s in your rear and 5.38s in your waggy 44 for 37" tires. Especially with your auto tranny! Take it FWIW...
I disagree with that. Yes, that seems to be the popular opinion of the interwebz, but I believe it mostly comes down to the quality of the gear install! When the gear set is installed correctly with good, tight pre-loads and tight of spec backlash, the ring and pinion will not deflect as much under high torque, and the fact that 5.29 pinion head is slightly smaller, becomes negligable. In fact, since 4.88s have a 39-8 ring to pinion tooth count, and 5.29s have a 37-7 ring to pinion tooth count, the teeth on the ring gear are actually thicker (ie: stronger) on the 5.29 ring gear. :) So, against popular opinion, I belive 5.29s may in fact be slightly stronger than 4.88s. But again, none of this is true with a sloppy install.

More info on this can be found on this idea, here: http://www.gearinstalls.com/410suck.htm
 Sounds awesome. So what main reason are you going with a 3-link up front, instead of a 4-link?? Doesn't seem like i'td be too hard to fit a 4th link on the right side with some modification to the exhaust, since your DS will be on the left side.... :notsure:

And why do you say 4.88s are stronger than 5.29s? Just because of the smaller pinion head and slightly less engagement??
Find some detailed 8" E-locker installs here: http://www.gearinstalls.com/

I learned just about everything I needed to learn before re-gearing my diffs from this page and the FSM. Lot's of very good info on Toyota gear installs on that page. Good luck, man!
    x2 very nice axles...
    x3!!!!!

I totally understand, man. Afterall, success or failure is measured in thousanths of inches. If that's the case, just got to use a reputable gear installer then... (such as ZUK, or ecgs, or a local place you trust...) I'm sure you'd agree.
lolz. sorry. :D I get carried away with the "quote +" button sometimes....... I even had more than that, but decided it would have been too long.

Yes to the 4.88 comment. reason for the three link is more on road stability and i personaly think they flex better in the front.

cryoed!! yeah ive broken those too.. doesn't matter how stong the metal is one hard shock and done.. i prefer norman gears that are just stonger..

Last time a girl made a little dick comment about me and my truck i told her if she can say it with my cock in the back of her mouth then ill put a sticker on the truck that says i over compensate. she didn't take the bet.

Rock crawling first, snow wheeling, playing in the sand and on trails then last is mud but yeah EFFF mud.

Well then come to South east idaho there are places out here that ive seen a ford F350 with a fully built and blown 460 big block sitting on 16" of lift and 44" super swamper boggers got stuck. I was the only one that could get close to him and i got stuck about 150 feet away from him.

then that shit fell into my eyes for the next few months every time i had to work on the damn truck. fuck that shit dude.

haha well the plus side of having a high lifted truck is easier to get under with the pressure washer!

How did you guys get the truck out?
