Anyone know a good offroad shop in this god forsaken state? I need new suspension, and I don't want to deal with the dealer or normal suspension shop since I want to keep the 3" lift.

    About 160 miles away... Hmmmmm....

I have a spacer lift now, been on the truck 6 years so it's time for new shocks. Plus I want to get away from the spacer/aal. I haul 400-800 pounds of pellets at a time to heat the house and the truck sags with just those.

Budget is as low as possible. I haven't wheeled in years. Would like to get into it, but mostly whatever trails I can find around here. I have a plate steel front bumper, and I want a rear plate and fiberglass cap (to replace my besttop). So weight in the rear and sagging is only going to get worse if I don't replace those springs.

I did the first lift myself too. Just blows my mind that shipping is damn near as much as one leaf! It was $150 from Toyotec, $148 from AP. Would be nice to find a place that had them shipped in as part of their "normal" freight to cut that down a bit. Push come to shove I guess I do 1 part at a time. lol

Well, looks like I found a solution! Tri City Spring in Binghamton will rebuild my factory springs to give me a lift and payload capacity of 800lbs (their number) for $500 parts and labor! They'll build a leaf pack, rivet them together, etc in a day. Drop the truck off Friday and it'll be done that day they said. They could even have done it Thursday, but I needed to wait for my paycheck to clear.

Now for the bad news, apparently the driver side AAL broke and fell out! [IMG] So I've been driving for who knows how long now loose u-bolts because I didn't realize that leaf had come out. Needless to say the truck drove normal aside from a rattle/clang that I thought was coming from a heat shield (which I fixed, and the noise stopped).

So if anyone near Binghamton needs new springs, or wants them rebuilt better than factory checkout http://www.tricityspringcorp.com/

what will you be doing for the front i recomend spending 1000 on a complete front and rear ome lift and itll be perfect for dd/work/tow/haul and offroad...with little to no maintenance for years and years...spend the money and do it right the first time....and set up a mod/meet day and well have it installed in 6hrs or less

I think you missed the part about the broken/missing AAL and loose U-bolts. :( Basically means I need it fixed sooner than later. And right now we have snow on the ground. One of my barn doors is broken and screwed shut so no one messes with it so I can't park the truck in there to work on it. So we would be outside in the mud and snow with air lines running through the snow. Did that before and the tools kept freezing up. Not a fun day!

I was planning on using tax money to do what you suggested, but the discovery of the broken spring today has moved up my time frame from "after taxes come in" to "as soon as effing possible!"

So $500 now for leafs, and then shocks and front struts/springs later.

OME is my plan. I was thinking 886's up front due to the brute force plate bumper, but surprisingly enough the stock suspension hasn't sagged under the weight of it. So 885's might be enough.

And I've heard to avoid billies so I won't be doing those. I might do a price compare between the OME 885's and whatever Tri City can do if they do coil springs, and I like how the leaf springs come out. I want to see what they have for shocks and struts too.
