Do yourself a favor disc0; disconnect your rear brake lines, then try driving around a bit like that. After that you will be able to get a good sense as to what happens when your brake lines DO tear and you can't stop. If you still have your E-Brake, consider it a life saver.

I guess I might. Is it bad to have the leafs separate? My extended brake lines came today.

    Ugh...the sad, sad truth.

On that note, I took a fully loaded Nissan Frontier 4x4 out for a spin today... I honestly wouldn't trade my poor lil' 5-lugger for that thing. It just didnt..."feel" right.

I have a 1997 5 lugger I wanna buy or make a custom mid travel setup for it! Nothing crazy just a little more/quality travel prob still with a lower ball joint. I already have fabtech spindles, I wanna make a uniball upper arm for my truck since no one makes one. Maybe a little longer then stock? What do you think? Im pretty sure you can drill out the top of the spindle to bolt the uniball? Weld lower coilover mounts to the stock lowers?

I also wanna make a beefier lower ball joint mount and upper arm pivot like I saw someone on here had done. Maybe make the upper arm with new weld on mounts to the frame?

Yes you can have a set of uniball UCA's made, I had done that when I had the fabtech 3" coil + 3" lift spindle to save money on ball joints, was a good move.

As far as mid-travel goes, nobody offers that anymore. Downey did a mid travel kit a long time ago but finding those is hard to do so you're basically stuck with a lift spindle and a coil only.

You can weld on tabs for the lower to run a coilover, but with the amount of work its going to take to find the right size shock that fits in the location and does not bottom out isnt worth it. Not to mention the cast lower ball joint mount is junk and you will run into a lot of problems with it. If you lived closer to me I could help you out and build a nice mid travel kit for a good price, but without your truck I cant use it to build a jig off of.
