I really don't think it's backwards. The suspension setup is not dependent on the power train.

For example, I wouldn't waste money on a transmission that can't hold up to the power goal, because I would end up having to buy two and spending more money.

I have my turbo setup to reach my power goals, I am building a motor to hold up to that power, a tranny that will mate up and not slip, and a rear to hold the abuse and put power down.

Suspension is a total second project. I am stiffening up suspension and adding caltracs.
Worst case scenario I have a beast truck that can't hook for a while!

Mindset of Jeremy clarkson. Power over handling, if you can't hook up at the strip what exactly is the point?

    X2

With the suspension and right tires and brakes..all pointless. And basically a death trap.

I have a feeling that he is just down playing it. As it is basically phase 2 of his build. I also have a feeling that he will get it down well.

    Okay...where do I start...hmmm

Well fully forged internals are on the way along with bearings and arp hardware.

I tore down the engine tonight...was not very happy. One spark plug had what they call "chocolate milk"....didn't have the correct size torque bit so I couldn't pull the head. So I went ahead and removed the bottom end rotating assembly.
The motor was pretty clean and no scarring on bearings. Also after removing valve covers the cams and top end was very clean.

I take photos on my iPhone, but it sucks and I can't upload pics, so I'll post a bunch when I get to a computer.

Yes handling is something that I will address, but like someone said its more of a phase 2 kind of thing.
But don't think this thing will be shredding corners...lol
I like to build custom open wheel race cars as well and those are my track babies. Lol

Got really aggervated today when I had to go buy a T-35 torx bit to take off the bolts for the cam seals. That thing is really hard to find!!!

Then the head uses 10mm bi-hex socket head bolts.
Of course I didn't have one!!

But motor is completely disassembled besides the head being mounted to the block.

Alright I need a huge favor!!!!

I lost the bid on eBay for some GTE pistons and Rods. It ended while I was sleeping and was out bid.
If anyone belongs to any supra forums or local car forums and comes across these I will offer top dollar for them. They usually sell for $250-300 for the used set.
I'll pay $500 just need them quick!

    Thanks

    Alright scratch that last post....

I need this motor built ASAP and don't feel like searching for used GTE pistons and Rods.

Ordered new parts from Titan Motorsports. Brian Crower had already shipped my other parts. As soon as they are all here the bottom end is being sent off.

I also got some free parts for helping out a guy with some fab work. Lol
He gave me a 35mm precision wastegate. And a 50mm BOV from rps.

Not ideal for what I wanted but hey they were free.
    I'll take some pics soon.

Alright took a photo after the tear down...sorry I didnt document the tear down, but its really just unscrewing a bunch of bolts. lol

BTW: 2 pistons are missing because I made ash trays out of them. lol

Then I wrapped up my block and head to be sent off.
You can also see a pic of the turbo sitting next to the block.

Haha. I gave one of my JE pistons to a friend to make an ash tray out of it as well. All scored from piston slap. Works well though. :)

Been busy I see. That is some good work completed there.

What all are you planning on doing to the heads and block now?

Ha yeah I was using a piston from a 450cc ATV but we had to dump it alot, so we upgraded lol.

The block is going to an engine builder in Orange Texas. He build my buddy's turbo 6.0 GMC. It put down 850hp so I trust the guy.
He's going to clean up some coolant jackets, line bore the cylinders, polish and rebalance crank. Then going to do full short block assembly, ACL rod main and thrust bearings, JE 8.5 pistons, eagle rods, and all arp hardware.
The head is going to be getting cleaned up and a small hand port job here locally. I'm deleting the VVTi and running stock GTE cam and cam gear.
Not doing much to the head because I plan to go all out on the head down the road.
