TRD Exhaust...

What are yalls opinion in the TRD exhaust?
Does anybody who has it like it or dislike it?

 

Just had it installed 1 week ago and love it, nice low throaty sound.

 

You can do better for less $$ unless you are looking for that SPECIFIC sound.

 

i have done an assload of research on a performance exhaust trying to find the right one. it all boils down to what you want.
here are my findings and why i'm gonna get a trd exhaust.

dual exhaust looks badass. however you actually lose power.
the banks single exit also loses power because it is 3" pipe.
those who have those exhausts generally love em and dont' notice any power drop.

the 2.5" pipe single exit is the best for the 4.0 if you want to gain power. the 2.5s are a magnaflow, trd, and there are a couple others.

at this point its a matter of sound and personal preference.

i'm gonna get a trd because its the best size for power, no welding required, and its not too loud but still louder than stock.
its all in what you want out of it.

 

I had my trd exhaust put on about a month after I got my truck. I love it. Looks clean and isnt too loud. I didnt want to sound like a honda civic with a canister exhaust

I'm sure the TRD fits better than all other brands. I like OEM quality/fitment. What size is the trd exhaust for the 4.0? What size is stock? How much power/mpg's are we talking here? what a good price/place to buy a kit? I'm looking for MPG's mainly.

 

i just ordered my TRD exhaust from SHOPTRD.com for $400 shipped. Now my TRD CAI will have a friend.

 

I have had it on for about four months, I think it sounds better outside the truck than it does inside. A little too much drone for me. Out side it has a really nice, very "un-ricer" sound. I plan on adding a resonator to make it quieter inside the truck.

 

how difficult is it to install the exhaust yourself? I don't have any experience in that area, but was wondering it was as simple as unbolting, and bolting on the new one?

Not hard at all, 30 min was all it took.
Used my floor jack under the rear bumper to help get the tail pipe through the leaf pack and truck frame and it slid right out.
