I feel like this was a pocket of retarded action. I only hope justice will be served to those civilians affected. I do not side with the criminal in any way, but only seek to understand the entire story as a case. This is a very messed up Case indeed!

This is exactly why he would be driving a blue truck

But why actually risk yourself when they already think he's driving it? Now that they think thats what he's in it would only make sense for him to switch vehicles and keep a low profile and let the police do what they're doing without any risk to himself, but then maybe he doesnt care about that anyway, never know with someone like that.

Seems to me that LAPD didnt use good tactics when they positioned uniformed officers in front of peoples houses.

Since Dorner wanted to kill any cops then having them outside and visible meant they were just sitting ducks.

My friend in Hermosa Beach says you cant see the cops on the streets anymore. He also thinks all the cops who lived in the area have left and word is they are getting a paid vacation to go FAR away.

doesnt it seem irresponsible to sned the cops far away? now there are no cops and no one to protect anyone. So now everyone are sitting ducks... doesnt sound like they would just send cops away like that

Isn't that the reason you all have guns , so you don't need to rely on the cops ?

At least that is always brought up in every gun thread

you forget we live in Kalifornia... And see its ok for the cops to shoot first and ask questions later and its only ok to shoot back for a civilian after your dead.

Some stick on chrome from pep boys
Wiki on the "Barefoot Bandit" that you were asking about." But while I haven't read "United States vs. Harris-Moore" I agree with you as I don't recall that he actually stole aircraft in Washington State but that he flew stolen aircraft to Washington State. I may be mistaken though.

You are welcome to go back to the Chris Dorner / LAPD / dead Tacoma truck discussion now.

On a serious note, this is actually very true. Police have no legal or constitutional obligation to provide protection or serve the public.

And since everyone in this thread is constantly demanding proof, feel free to read up on case law:

    (1) Richard W. Stevens. 1999. Dial 911 and Die. Hartford, Wisconsin: Mazel Freedom Press.
    (2) Barillari v. City of Milwaukee, 533 N.W.2d 759 (Wis. 1995).
    (3) Bowers v. DeVito, 686 F.2d 616 (7th Cir. 1982).
    (4) DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services, 489 U.S. 189 (1989).
    (5) Ford v. Town of Grafton, 693 N.E.2d 1047 (Mass. App. 1998).
    (6) Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. 1981).
"...a government and its agencies are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any particular individual citizen..." -Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. App. 1981)

    (7) "What makes the City's position particularly difficult to understand is that, in conformity to the dictates of the law, Linda did not carry any weapon for self-defense. Thus by a rather bitter irony she was required to rely for protection on the City of NY which now denies all responsibility to her."
    Riss v. New York, 22 N.Y.2d 579,293 N.Y.S.2d 897, 240 N.E.2d 806 (1958).

    (8) "Law enforcement agencies and personnel have no duty to protect individuals from the criminal acts of others; instead their duty is to preserve the peace and arrest law breakers for the protection of the general public."
    Lynch v. N.C. Dept. of Justice, 376 S.E. 2nd 247 (N.C. App. 1989)

Come to think of it, I haven't seen a single cop all day. A COMPLETE opposite story from yesterday.

I dunno anymore! Let's just hope for the best...whatever that may be (according to all) and in general...Let us pray that no more loss of life comes from this.. or any other chaos that will certainly affect us. I am now going to bed. Truck on Tacoma owners....Live free...cherish the moment.....put faith in the future....We are fortunate to own such great Trucks! Live, Love, and always slap that ass! Goodnight gentlemen. And good luck.
