    Hello all.
Been shopping for a couple of canopies now for a while, and I've narrowed it down to 2. The Snugtop Rebel, and the Leer 100xr. The Snugtop I want is roughly 300 more than the Leer in Vancouver, but the dealer gives lifetime warranty on all the smaller parts for life as long as I own it. Is it worth the extra $300 ?

Another question I can't seem to find the answer for, are the pet screens removable ?

    Thanks.

I looked at both and bought the snugtop. A buddy has the Leer and it is nice, but the finish is not as good as the snugtop. Our tops are about the same age and my rear window seems to be a little tighter than his Leer. Dont think you can go wrong with either one though.

Don't skip options you are wanting, better to get them when you buy it. I skipped the roof rack due to cost and wish I had purchased it when I ordered it. Just .02

I've got a snugtop rebel and love it. I'm not saying the leers aren't a good shell, my dad has one on his dodge and its nice. The only reason I went snugtop was vented windoors on a short bed, leer doesn't offer them.
Also like cooktaco said, get the options you want. I also skipped the roof rack reinforcement because of cost, and I regret it now.

Very happy with my LEER 100RCC

Either way you go , get a removeable front slider

    x2 on the slider.

I have a Snugtop, I think it is a great canopy.

But I have no preference, I got a great deal on it.

I'd say Snugtop, but both are nice. Snugtops seem to fit the lines of the truck better, the RCC version that OZ has is sweet. Can't go wrong with either brand.

    Welcome to TW.

I think the snugtop has a thicker roof? Leer has that option (OZ has one to support a roof rack), but my Leer doesn't have it. I may eventually put a rack on it to support a couple of kayaks, and don't expect that much weight to be a problem. I have not regretted the Leer. Fit and finish is great, and the shell it'self does not leak. Make sure they seal the factory plastic rail caps to the front of the bed with silicone. That was the weak spot on mine.

Mine is the 100RCC , which is the commercial version of the 100R , and has a reinforced roof with hard points that the roof rack pylons mount to rather than tracks

The roof and rack are rated to carry 400lbs .

Ok, so I was just talking to the Snugtop dealer here, this is what I'm more than likely going to get.
Snugtop rebel with sportsman package, yakima roof rack (complete set), an extra clothing hanger, and removable front slider for $2570 Canadian plus tax. Any more recommendations of must haves ? :)
Price sound like it's ok ?
    Thanks again guys.

I've had the SnugTop SuperSport on my truck since 07... everything still works like the day i got it. Make sure you get a fold down front window with slider.

I'm wondering what is the advantage of a removeable front slider vs. a front boot?

Removeable front slider allows you to wash the back of the cab

I'm personally not a boot fan

What do you mean by Leer doesn't offer vented windows on a shortbed? Are you talking about sliding side windows?

My side windows flip up. Leer doesn't offer the flip up windows that also slide. ARE also offers vented windoors, but they don't have the skirt that covers the top of the bedsides. I'm on my phone otherwise I would post a pic. I have pics in my build thread though.

Oh ok, didn't realize that is what was meant by vented windows. I thought you meant that the Leer didn't have side windows that slide open.
