Haha. The parking lot for the DD's/ restaurant at the top of my street was still unplowed this morning:spy:

Since most of my streets still have snow on them, I drove around this morning drifting around corners. Just gotta watch out for the one and only cop with an Explorer.

I did the SAME thing with home depot...I had a 10% off that I was able to stack with a 10% e-coupon that included free shipping...I got the thing for like $330 (WITH tax and free delivery)...It was a steal! I think they had the gas generator price on it by accident.

I also have the 4000LP...LOVE IT!
I did two videos on youtube because I couldn't find anything about it...

I have a wood stove for the winter heat and really just need it so we stop losing $250 worth of food when the power goes out...My town loses power at least 3 or 4x a year for more than 12Hrs...

It has 2 120v outlets. It does not have the big 30A 4 pin receptacle...so you can't wire it to a sub panel. M

My plan is I am going to put 1 regular 110v outlet in the house and drill 2 tiny 1/4" to 1/2" holes in the wall, cut the tabs on the outlet so they are split, wire each to a piece of romex that I pass through the wall. I will put an all weather box outside and wire the ends of the romex with all weather 3 prongs...I'll leave like 3" of slack and tuck them in the box. Then when the power goes out I can run 2 12guage extension cords from the 2 outlets on the generator to the male plugs and I have a nice sub $50 pass through...

Inside the house use an extension cord in one of the outlets that is just for the fridge/microwave (never both at the same time)
Into the bottom plug in a Triplite LC 1200 power conditioner...It will give you nice clean power to run your TV/Receiver etc
    http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-LC1200-Conditioner-Outlet/dp/B0000512LA

Here are the 2 video reviews I did on it..

I get 8-12hrs on a single 20Lb propane tank...It's quieter than a gas generator and amazingly the oil lasts forever because the propane is so clean it doesn't char up the oil...you can go 100's of hours without a change...

If you do pick one up get a mini funnel with a 3" stem because the oil is tough to fill...The only drawback is I haven't been able to find a working wheel kit for it so I throw it in my lawn cart when I need it..

We just drifted and screwed around. We both were stuck at the exact same time too. I landed in a few snow bank screwing off.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I got stuck 3 times so far, i only had to dig out a little bit to get going again. My town isn't plowing secondary roads until tomorrow, so i have been helping some friends out playing snow taxi. Going down the unplowed streets isn't bad, its just when i have to turn around, thats when i get stuck.

My parents town is the same way. Their street still isn't plowed. Seems like CT needs to man up and start plowing, cause that's a pretty significant safety hazard.

They say between 6 to 8 hours under load on a tank if I recall correctly. Since I bought it, we haven't lose power since (of course) so I've just used it around the house, to power things in the garage from time to time just to keep it running. I bought it to run the heat which consists of the fuel pump for the boiler and the circulator pump for the forced hot water system and also the fridge. I haven't been out of power for a long enough time to test how many other things I can keep running with the generator but the 4000W is plenty for the heat and fridge. If you have a way to test the hertz, you're welcome to check out mine to see how clean the power is :D

    I don't have an oscilloscope... :)

I ran the following..together...from one outlet on the generator - all on a single powerstrip - 1 Acer 6900 series laptop, a Belkin BZ103050 mini surge protector w/ 2 usb outs that I use for charging and Iphone, and Ipod touch and a AC adapter for a cell phone...I also had a table lamp 100w, and a Samsung 19" LED Tv (UN19D4000NDXZA) that is great in power outages because you can watch movies off a thumb drive...

And the fridge plugged straight in to the generator on a second cord...

I had no issues w/ dirty power. I found that even under load jumps there was never a spike beyond what good electronics can handle.

If you are worried you can buy that Tripp Lite power conditioner...

Or pay $1000+ for a inverter generator

I am next to Oxford airport, which officially topped at 36" so this makes us #2 after Hamden with 40 ". With out front loader or really big snow thrower its uphill battle. I feel bad people living in complete back roads because they won't see civilization for some time. All have to be cleared with front loaders.

Sounds good, let me know when you want to check it out. It's out and ready to go so it'll only take a minute to start it up.

On another note, my sliders are finally bed linered :yay: When it warms up, I'll get them mounted.

I think it's time to disable ABS again. I was slowing down for a red light, almost stopped when ABS kicked in causing me to roll another 10ft into the middle of the intersection. Luckily no one was around.
