Pistol caliber carbine guns who has one

Does anyone have any of these guns, i was thinking of maybe getting a 40 cal rifle. but i havent heard much about them. i really like the looks of the J R Carbine .40 cal..

My dad has one its made by Ruger. It's a pistol/rifle combo, chambered in .40, and they share mags (the rifle uses the pistols magazine). I think it's pretty awesome, both pretty good fun guns

 

I have three...........bought them to have ammo compatability with my sidearms

.38/357 lever action
9mm Marlin Camp 9 Carbine
.40 Ruger PC-4

The 9mm is my favorite and is the cheapest (ammo costs) to shoot. I call them my 100 yard rifles.....pretty good accuracy out to 100 yards, past that bullet drop is a real problem.

 

The just right in 9mm is pretty fun.

 

I've got an AR-22 if that counts.

Would love to do a pistol build in 9mm though.

 

I've got the Kriss Vector in .45 ACP. Fun gun to shoot. Pretty accurate out to 50 yards. 100+ starts to drop considerably since the .45 is a slow round.

 

I have a S&W 586 in 38/357 and a Winchester 94 Ranger lever action in .357

 

Which one wld be a better choice if you were going to pick one out.... A 9mm or a .40 cal and what brand. I wld like to stay as cheap as possible..

 

look into a hipoint 9mm carbine, i bought mine for 350 +tax with a laser.

hi point is usually frowned upon, by people who have never shot them. good gun

 

I was thinking about an AR 22 but i cant decide which direction i want to go
AR22 or a .40 cal Carbine

 

thats not bad at all the JR is like 600 naked kinda high i think.
I just bought a .40 cal Glock the good thing about that is the JR takes my glock mags

 

As Tigerfan said, the KelTec Sub2000 guns take various handgun mags (you can get them that take Glock, Beretta, Sig, Keltec, S&W) and in 9mm and .40. Neat gun and pretty accurate; they have a bot of a cult following.

The Beretta Storm is a very good gun, just expensive.

The Hi-Point carbine is supposedly a good gun if money is a consideration.

No experience with the gun you linked; it may be a great gun, but damn it's ugly.

AR15s can be configured for various calibers- basically anything you can fit in the mag-well. .22 and 9mm are common and both are a ton of fun- especially suppressed. If money is a concern you can always buy just an upper; you can actually buy .22 conversions that replace the bolt/bolt carrier for under $200. There are also purpose built pistol caliber lowers.

There are others such as the Ruger and Marlin offerings (the Camp Carbines are good guns but they run really dirty and have gotten hard to find and expensive). There are also carbine variations of some of the Mac style guns.

Lever guns are another option and certainly more PC in this BS climate.


Personally I'm a fan of lever guns and AR style guns.

marlin camp 9 is hard to beat for the price

 

after digging alittle deeper there are way to many choices and styles to pick from...this is like car shopping.
I dont really want to get over the 400-500 range tops....
hi point web sit is saying retail is about 330 for one of the guns i like. thats not bad i think. rickmeseke quoted on this also. Its a good looking gun IMO.
Im guessing any type of tactical is going to be hard to find now..

 

anybody have the kel-tec sub 2000? i'm looking to get one as a truck gun when we move to a free state.
i think i want the glock mag version, but i sorta want the 226 mag version because i'd be more likely to get a 226 than a glock

 

I've got an H&K USC in .45ACP. Hands down the best pistol caliber carbine I've ever shot, but they are pricey, especially now.

 

Just built my 9mm AR not too long ago. Lots of fun to shoot.

Although, not much is lately. I also have a Sub 2k that takes 9mm glock mags. I bought it under $300. I've seen them for 600+ now
