The part about this that makes it so much ass sucking bunch of bullshit is that this is a known issue for 5 model years yet they continue putting them together this way & just hoping for the best whether people notice & actually bring them in or not. Uber fucking lame, but we've covered that angle in other TSB threads.

BTW, there is a newer version of the TSB that went up thru 07 maybe 08s too. May wanna find that one, not that it should matter. Try to remain calm & determined, maybe mention knowing of this happening to many other people's trucks you know(whether you do or not) & try to keep the word forum out of it. From what I've read & heard, as soon as you say forum, dealerships automatically think you're modding, racing & abusing your vehicle & go straight into defensive mode acting like you're running game on them to try to get out of doing what they should just do without question. Other than how many miles are on it, there shouldn't be any questions or argument about it, especially for an 09.

    Like someone once said...
"90% of tacoma buyers will have no issues having 3 leaf springs" Simply because they dont use the truck .

The TSB does not cover the 09 model year- so officially they don't have to look at the TSB AT ALL...They can elect to use the part numbers to try and perform the service...but it's not "Covered" by the TSB (which BTW isn't an OFFICIAL document for anything- It's NOT a recall, It's NOT a consumer document but it is guidance for the dealership techs to try and fix hard to diagnose/remedy issues)

You sound like a little kid here man- Not someone who is rationally working on solving a problem. You get the wrong info, you act pissy with the dealership (sorry...but from your posts have a hard time believing you were all strawberries and sunshine to the dealer service writer), and then you "let the anger get ahold of you" and wheel your truck around...I sure as fuck don't want some angry ass driving around near me- It's dangerous enuf to drive without people who are distracted/angry on the road.

The gun comment and admitting to considering lying is just all that much more indication that you are being irrational and immature about the situation.

You REALLY should get the right info before you go demanding things- I think the older TSB had VIN numbers listed on it...the NEWEST edition is predicated on the 4x4/PreRunner types with certain spring part numbers.

+1...Yes...The dealer is there to service your truck...but that doesn't give you license to act like an ass because they don't do what you want them to do. Do I agree with them not doing the spring swap-NO...but am i surprised...Not really.

Might help you a little bit....but if it was a safety concern or it was causing accidents- It would be recall NOT a TSB.

Doesn't make this one bit less lame. That type of business practice mindset sucks dick no matter what the "reasoning" is.

It sucks dick to make 90% of the people who buy a product happy and have to work out some kinks with the other 10%....

X2. I belive a Truck is a "Truck", and should perform off the lot as advertised. If I wanted something that rode soft and fluffy, that couldnt haul or tow what I wanted, I would have bought a car.

You've hit the nail on the head. It's better (cheaper and easier) to replace springs and shocks for the 10% who actually use the Tacoma like a truck than to catch hell from 90% who want it to ride like a car.

Why else do you think Toyota hasn't started putting 4 leafs on at assembly even though they've known about the issue for YEARS?

Maybe so. Not the point. They knowingly after 5 model years continue to put known to be shitty parts on there & expect people who do notice to just suck it up because other clueless people don't notice. That's just absurd. It is just straight up bullshit business practice. It's like selling turds in baby ruth packages & just see who notices. Why people just help with the oh well no biggy it's to be expected it's not their fault they're selling subpar shit as completely OK is beyond me. Really? Folks are that brainwashed by this type shit to consider it normal & just suck it up? That's how companies just get bolder about it & take it just a bit further next time. Perpetuates the continual degradation of what choices consumers have, not just for autos either.

The Tacoma is outselling others in it's class by at least a 2-1 margin.
They're not going to fix what ain't broke.

Bring your truck up to Hendersonville NC and get the TSB at Bryan Easler Toyota. They did mine without question and gave me a loaner car to drive for the day while the work was done. And unlike some other dealers I have heard about... they did mine right the first time.

It baffles me that any dealer would skip on this... they get to bill Toyota for the work... and the work order I had to sign showed almost $2100 as the cost of parts and labor.

I like driving my base model around knowing it has TRD shocks and 4 leafs. :D

It's almost like that except that 90% of Tacoma drivers WANT TURDS.

IT'S NOT SUCKING IT UP AND FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T MIND IT'S NOT SUBPAR.

If you don't care enuf to go to the dealer and say "My truck rides rough when I put shit in it" then you don't HAVE a problem. There are several folks who LIKED the ride on the 3 pack (Ref the two B/S/T theads about getting 3 leaf packs in exchange for 4 packs-Where you could get 4 pack springs).

They make a product that TONS of folks buy- and some get "fixed" )for lack of a better word) to suit their purposes, under warranty (read: at no additional cost).
I'm not seeing where they are screwing anybody (except for maybe taking a bit too long to get the 09's listed on the TSB- but folks have STILL gotten the springs by being reasonable and asking)

Geez people...there isn't a single vehicle out there that 100% satisfies EVERY owner. Get a grip. This is still one of the best trucks out there by far and listening to this crap sounds like it's a total pos. Reality check anyone?

FWIW, I am not even going to mess with the dealer to try to get the 4-leaf. I'm bagging mine, it will serve my pupose MUCH better ALL of the time. I get my level load capacity AND a nice smooth ride.

And Clemson...sorry dude, but you are acting like a spoiled little kid. Brunes nailed it in his earlier post.
