I had a 2011 NomadC frame that I sold last month, built it up mainly for shuttle days. Here she was:

Oh nice! Honk if you see me around haha ;) Let me know if you get yourself a hardtail, def down for some riding!

Haha yup that's my "Dude, you're crazy" Fox 40'd Nomad. Here are old pics of it: http://www.pinkbike.com/u/STiLLWILL/album/My-2011-Santa-Cruz-Nomad-Carbon/

If you don't need to climb that much I would DEFINITELY run a 40 on it for sure----it would be ideal to run a DHX RC4 in the back w/the Push Industries Nomad upper link. Plush as hell! The carbon frame is strong as fack, don't be afraid to throw on a dual crown fork.

I still have my Fox 40 Kashima off that frame. If my cousin doesn't end up buying it off me, you can have dibs. LMK!

That's freakin awesome you're building bombers, madonna, and irish! Keep me updated on the progress! Since MDO is a 5 min drive from me, I try to ride Horsecamp and/or Hazards 3-4 times a week. I haven't done Shooters since last year---I'm long overdue for a shuttle run!

I hear they're trying to eventually connect MDO to Irish??? Any deets on that?

haha yup, i havent ridden this trail since last year but they re built it in the fall, it looks like a ton of fun
it sounds like maybe the stem or top cap may have gotten loose some how? unless it is the actual fork.

hold the front brake really tight and see if it wiggles. it doesnt mean that it is the stem or top cap but you might be able to find out where exactly the play is coming from.

Yup def start with the stem/cap. Those will always work themselves loose.

If that stuff checks out and you're still seeing play while the front brake is engaged, anothing thing to check would be your front rotor---specifically the bolts attaching it to the hub. If you haven't changed the rotor out in a while and ride regularly the holes can start to oval---which will also give you forward/backward play while the brake is on.

Also, the bottom of the headset at the crown race area can unseat slightly depending how big the wipeout was---something else to check.

yea definitely not the first time iv'e eaten it on this bike. ive had this bike 9 years or so. and ive definitely used her and abused her.

but no i did that and slammed it down and still same movements. ive taken top cap off and tightened everything down dick tight. what tools do you need to take the fork off? ill just break her down and take a look.
