    Hi guys!

What do you think my mpg is with all my current mods?

I am running 265/75/16's lifted 3" and have a Gibson exhaust with the TRD CAI.

    Thanks!

grab a gps and find out how far off ur speedometer is. mine is dead set on correct with those size tires u have, so maybe just fill up, and reset the odo, then when u refill up, divide the miles by the gallons. i used to get about 18 maybe 19 with that setup. i have a bumper now and its not so aerodynamic and i get like 16-17

Websites like gasbuddy.com also have tools to calculate/store your mpg's for future reference... Just have to make a note of the reading on your odo each time you fill up.

Lol no I just want to know if I sell my truck and get a full size V8 that gets about 14 city 19-20 highway will I be gaining some MPG or losing some.

If I am right now at around 14 city 17 highway then getting the bigger truck won't be much of a difference in MPG. :)

if you're worried about mpg get some tires with less rolling resistance, cheaper than a new truck you could always get a new set of wheels too just some steelies or something have one set with mud tires and one set with all seasons or H/Ts

well, your setup is similar to mine. I average around 16 or so with a lot of stop and go around town stuff, but on highway trips i usually get 19-21.5mpg.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that if you're getting 14/17 in the Tacoma which is rated at 17/21 that you'll be in the 11-12/15-16 range driving the full size truck unless you dramaticly change your driving habits.

True, however he is lifted with slightly larger tires than most stock fullsize trucks come with. However, 3" and 265/75/16s is not enough (in most cases) to drop you down into fullsize gas mileage territory.

The thing is I need a full size for work so I just wanted to see if I would be around the same MPG it sounds like it will be a touch less in the full size but maybe not enough to even notice.

Won't be a ton. I'm still debating the switch to an 05-08 F150. I hear numbers thrown all over from 11-12mpg up to 17-18mpg. I'm thinking with my driving style I would be in the 15-16mpg mixed range (down approx 3-4 mpg from my Tacoma).

Did you decide on a fullsize yet?

I was leaning towards the GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 but I don't like that they weren't rated as high as the F150 on crash test ratings. I plan to keep this truck when I start my family so I want safety. It is looking more towards an 09 F150 FX4. :)
