Cool. I'm not too hip on working with metal so was making sure no problems welding the different grade nuts.

1" nuts. There's a joke, or two, in there somewhere.

I'm getting the itch to go play in the snow, so I've been researching Paliza Canyon, and I think it might be worth checking out. I'm not sure I want to head up there solo, though, in case I get into trouble. Has anyone on here been up that trail before?

Check out these links for some pics and a map. It's in the Jemez, just outside Jemez Springs, and north of Ponderosa.

Oh yeah, btw, I'm Nick and I made an intro post awhile back in this thread. Ripcord knows me, and I usually post on t4r.org. Here's a pic of the rig to jog your memory:

I've been on that road many times, but never in the winter. My truck is mostly stock; probably wouldn't make it through the snow right now.

The road that cuts off from Paliza Canyon Road & ends up at Cochiti Pueblo can be pretty gnarly, too, but would be even worse in the snow.

    Great pics, thanks!!

You replaced the handle & it broke again? What did you replace it with, OEM, aftermarket or junkyard part?

Dude!!! I'm having similar problems... linkage inside my door was all loose and not allowing my driverside door to open. I tried fixing it, but just made it all worse. Using the passenger door to get in and out sucks!!

Anybody reccomend a shop that might be able to help me out?? I've taken my door apart 5 times, now, and I make it worse everytime.

I managed to fix mine all by myself, and i'm not the best wrench around. I replaced my driver's side outside door handle about 3 weeks ago. There are some plastic clips/pieces that break easily.

If you'd like, I can come over & see if I can be of any help to ya.

I appreciate it, greg! but I think I screwed it up beyond repair.... The actual door handle is fine (junkyard replacement I installed a few months back) but I'm thinking all the linkage for the lock and ext door handle will have to be replaced. :(

I kept my original one, as it looked fine to me. The part that broke on my truck was the plastic clip that attaches the door rod to the handle.

I am assuming that the POS part I got from Rockauto will break soon, so I kept the OEM one to re-replace it with. I need to get a new plastic clip or two from the dealer to have on hand for that eventuality. :bucket:

Bummer. :( Those linkage parts are a PITA to get at, too; I see why you might want to pay someone to fix it.
