Anyone ever refinished a gun stock?

Just stripped, stained and poly'd, (Polied, Polyed?) the wood on my shotgun. Kinda hoping the poly stands up to firearm use, oil, etc.

Thanks. Hanging in my laundry room now. Probably won't reassemble until tomorrow. I figure worst case, I have to strip it again and start over.

I called a few local gunsmiths in the area, and I've got The Village Arms working on a gun of mine right now. Supposedly "all of the gunsmiths are backed up right now" is the story I got. They have good reviews, and they're located in Gap. Ill letcha know how well they do.

Trying to decide on M38 M39 or M44.

If I stay russkie its whether or not i want an attached bayonet, or if its worth it to go Finn if I can find one.
